“"A piece of the rain forest within a wonderful resort town"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Rustic, charming, peaceful, are just a few words to descibe Harrison Heritage House and Cottages. My wife & I viewed raccoons frolicking along the Miami River & squirrels in the trees right out of the front window of the dining room while sipping our morning coffee. We would stroll on the beach which was only one block away & make are way over to our favorite breakfast spot "Cookin Kim's Country Cafe" where Kim & her staff always meet you with a smile & hot coffee. "HINT" head there early it's a local hot spot & the food is great (the pies are to die for),you may meet some of locals & if one of them are named Marty your going to have a laugh, he's the local comedian. We then would return to our cottage to make plans for our day, Sonja was very helpful with providing us information for many different activities to do & sights to see. If you want a massage, view a world class flower garden, or go sport fishing, Sonja is the person to ask. If you happen to get too much sun from laying on the beach in front of the 64km long glacier fed Harrison Lake, you can go back to the cottage & cool off inside the naturally cool cottages "Theres nothing like a Siesta in the middle of the afternoon on a queen size pillow top" Once your all rested up & are searching for a icy cold one & great supper, just head over to the Old Settler Pub, the beers cold & the food's great."Oh my I feel another Siesta coming on already" The only complaint I have is that my wife & I had to return home. One week just isn't enough so we will just have to return again & again. Sonja is much more than a host, she makes you feel as if you are part of the wonderful community of Harrison Hot Springs.

I stayed with my young son and we had such a great time....the hosts are wonderful, friendly, and knowledgable....our cottage was perfect, clean, and cozy. I love having the kitchenette, and the dvd player came in handy for my little guy to watch his fave movie. The view was fabulous, overlooking a small river, and the location was amazing..just a 3 min walk to the beach. I can't wait to go back next year!!!

“A real jewel of a place. We loved it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

We rented 3 cottages to attend a family wedding. What a wonderful choice of accomadations. All 3 cottages are large enough to comfortably house and sleep 4 guests but there are slight differences so do the research to match your wants.
A very quiet and secluded spot in the middle of a very busy tourist town.
You can walk anywhere in town in a few minutes.
Everyone who visited us while attending the wedding loved it and wished they had stayed there. My elderly parents stayed in the Cedar Cottage with the full kitchen and 2 ground floor bedrooms and the loved being able to entertain all of us. We even had a family movie night there. Sonja is a wonderful hostess with a smile that never ends. The gardens are beautiful and even at 30 degrees the cottages are set up for a cool breeze through the trees and off the river.

“Rustic Charm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

The vistas and natural beauty at Harrison Hot Springs are amazing! Restaurants and "things to do" are a little on the high side, cost wise. The Public Pool, apparently springs fed, is old and in need of renovation. The Harrison Heritage House was OK; a little too rustic for my taste. It was clean. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The bed in the second bedroom was as hard as a board and my back was telling me all about it in the morning. There was major construction happening in the back lane and the cottage shook until 7:30pm at night - not the owner's fault, obviously.

So glad you enjoyed the natural beauty of our area. Next time you may want to try one of our newer cottages which have the look of rustic but the comforts of new . Unfortunately the day you stayed with us unbeknownst to us they were in the process of giving us a newly paved road in front of our driveway! Thank you for not holding us responsible for the sounds of progress. Cheers Sonja & Robert

“Peaceful, relaxing, and private getaway, will recommend it to everyone!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

We stayed here in July during the Harrison Festival of the Arts and are so happy to have found this place! The service was exceptional, Sonja was very accomodating and made us feel very welcome and right at home, providing us with tons of information about the festival and other things to do in the area. We stayed in the Heritage Suite, which was gorgeous and very clean. The location was absolutely PERFECT for what we were looking for...something within walking distance of the beach, all of the local restaurants and shops along the beach, and easy access to the hot springs, and other hiking/biking trails. Everything we needed all right next door! We really loved taking out the canoe for a paddle around the river and the breakfast was also very tasty. We loved the fact that it was left outside of our room with just a knock at the door when it was ready, very private.
Overall, a rejuvenating trip and very pleasant experience. We will be sure to stay there again!

Room Tip: We highly recommend the Heritage Suite in the main building- Very cozy!
