“A comfortable and welcoming home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

Stone Wood is an excellent B and B. Everything is done right from the moment you arrive. It was particularly suitable for a group of four (two rooms) since we had the whole upstairs to ourselves with the large comfortable private sitting room between the two upstairs rooms.

We also found the proximity to the Crofton ferry made it a great location for a quick hop over for a Saltspring Island day-trip. Rob and Susie suggested dinner choices for both nights and we weren't disappointed.

Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Upstairs pair of rooms (King and Queen) great for two couples travelling together.

“Don't miss Stone Wood or this beautiful area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

We stayed at Stone Wood for two nights in September 2011 and wished afterwards we had stayed longer (see below). Rob and Susie are a joy, we laughed such a lot, and certainly they could not make you more welcome. The house should be featured in a top homes magazine it is so, so beautiful and everything in the bedroom and bathroom looks like no one has ever stayed there before it is so clean and new: fluffy, sparkling towels; beautiful bedding;quality, generous toiletries, etc. The breakfast could not be bettered, wonderfully tasty and beautifully presented, I challenge anyone to want any lunch!. I really can't recommend it highly enough, you will not find anywhere better.( You may find somewhere with better advertising, but I am convinced it could not be as good.)
We left there to drive over to Torfino and the drive was lovely but we found the town and the local area disappointing and very expensive. They really rip you off when you go over there as it's a long way back to anywhere else so you have to pay up!
We found the Cowichain area, where Stone Wood is, very beautiful with excellent restaurants at reasonable prices (Genoa Bay Restaurant is a must, try the seafood chowder.) Susie and Rob will point you in the right direction for anything you want to do.

Room Tip: The king is the same price as the queen.

“A wonderful B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

This home is absolutely stunning, and located on an amazing property too. The hosts are very friendly, and we sincerely enjoyed our conversations with Rob, who is one of the nicest people you will meet. He made us a dinner reservation at Genoa Bay and gave us directions to get there- we were very pleased at the place he recommended. The breakfast at the B&B was superb. The rooms are elegant and private. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

“Staying here feels like being at home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

This was the best place to stay of our whole Canada trip!
We really felt at home staying at Rob and Susie's house. Everything was perfectly clean and comfortable. Our room was huge, with a sitting area, walk-in closet, very nice bathroom with a tub and a shower. Sleeping was extremely quiet and recreative.
But the best was the breakfast! We had a great fruit granola yogurt parfait with freshly picked local fruits and the best eggs benedict you will find in Canada! So each night you go to bed you can look forward to the breakfast! Rob gave us good advices for things to do, to see and to eat in the Cowchian Valley.
It was just great! We very much enjoyed staying with Rob and Susie!

“The ultimate bed & breakfast.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

Friendly and gracious host and hostess, delicious and hearty breakfasts beautifully presented and made with local produce, spacious, well-appointed rooms and bathrooms - no detail is forgotten! From the moment you arrive at this 3-acre get away, you are pampered! You even have a quarry to swim in. We enjoy quiet for sleeping and that's exactly what this idyllic setting offered us. Next time we visit we plan to explore Chemainus, Crofton and Duncan less than 30 minutes away.
