I have stayed at the Coast Plaza when it was a Delta. I have always liked this Hotel both for the service, consistent quality of the rooms, food and service. All in all a pleasure to be able to stay there and reasonably priced.

I have had to stay at this hotel a few time when in Calgary. The business I work for has corporate rates here. The hotel over all is showing signs of it's age. If you like colored glass and brass fixtures - maybe this is a place for you. I would not recommend the restaurants at the hotel as you can get better quality food in the surrounding area. Frankly, the one time i tried the food here it was pretty gross.

I stay in the upper story rooms as they are larger and offer areas for me to sit down with a laptop and get some work done. The rooms have an interesting layout with two tv's viewable from the bed. However, on my last stay, one of the TV's did not work.

Overall - a pretty lack-luster hotel experience.

Here are the facts I learned before booking this place. Parking at the YYC airport costs about $70/week at any of the lots. The cheapest airport proximate hotels are about $125/night and they are nasty. But, for only about $150 including all taxes and fees, you could stay at the Coast Plaza, park your car in their huge and safe parking lot, and get a free airport shuttle to and from the airport. That makes this the best deal going for hotel/parking combo of any of the airport area hotels.

I checked with other close hotels, they all want a fee for parking, or are more money for the room.

This hotel is large, has conference facilities, restaurant, bar, and is close to shopping and fast food. It was once known as the Marlborough Inn for many years and I have stayed here several times in the past. The property has been renovated and looks good inside, the rooms are big, clean, and its a good deal. The staff was fast and efficient, the shuttle driver was helpful and friendly.

Absolutely nothing to complain about at all for me.

First off when I pulled up my first thought was that this hotel looked delapitated and run down. I was here to attend a banquet and staying here made sense. After an annoying check in process where the clerks didn't really seem very keen to serve their guests I finally made it up to my room. It was less than stellar but seemed ok. Then I went to use the iron and it looked like it had some kind of melted fabric on it. I was scared it would destroy my clothes but thankfully it was ok. Next I used the toilet and on first flush it started to overflow! Strangely enough this hotel has phones in the bathroom next to the toilet - perhaps that's what they are for? In any case within minutes of my call a maintenance guy came to plunge the toilet.

I must say I was ok with things until I went to bed. I crawled in, and noted how horrible the sheets felt on my skin - very pilled and rough. THEN I looked down and found a HUGE hair on the sheets. Grossed out, I inspected bed #2- found something crusty up by the pillows. I am willing to bet the housekeepers didnt bother to change the sheets from the previous guests.

Being late and being tired I decided to chance it and stay in the room though certainly did not have a good sleep. This place is disgusting and I will not stay again, nor will I encourage anyone else to stay in this dumpy establishment.
