This is the first tme I stayed at the Rimrock Resort Hotel, after a perpetual cycle of disappointments with the Posh "Fairmont" Resorts; namely, the Banff Springs Hotel. I was ever so pleasantly surprised to find an exceptional hotel that surpassed my expectations. Great reception, friendly valet and concierge staff, beautiful clean room with an incredible view of Sulfer Mountain - in fact, Rimrock is carved right into Sulfer Mountain! Nice shops inside the hotel, pubs, restaurants, spa, weight room, everything you can ask for in a Hotel. Their buffet breakfast was excellent, as was the breakfast menu, and very reasonably priced, I might add, for the amount and quality of food. Truly a hidden gem! I can't wait for my next stay at the Rimrock.
We were in a corner room, facing down the valley with a surreal view. Fabulous . The afternoon was so wonderful, we sat out on the private patio and decided we would stay there until the sun went down. Duh, it didn't ! At 2 am we finally realized where we were and sadly said goodnight. We enjoyed several days here exploring the town and the parks. One of the best times we have ever had. Went to the "castle" for lunch and felt very happy with our decision to have stayed at the Rimrock.
Was treated very well. Room was beautiful with a great view. My husband and I stayed for three nights and loved it. Room was spotless and well stocked. Bed was comfortable. Chairs were situated perfectly to enjoy the view. The hotel was very quiet and the staff friendly.I used travel zoo and got a good rate for two nights with some bonus items and paid full price for one night. We were walking distance to the sky tram and also the hot springs. Our room had a fridge so we could have cold water to take each time. Parking was tight and that would be the only thing I could complain about.
Having stayed at the Rimrock the last 3 years I was most disappointed in the way my simple request for a room in the north tower was such a hassle this weekend!! I understand that a request is simply that but when I could not get a room in the north tower and the next person to check in was my buddy and he did get his request for the same north towre something is wrong !! After standing in the check in line for the second time and to have the another desk clerk make me wait another 10 minutes so she could see what she could do for me was frustrating to say the least ! So after all this I did finally get a room in the north tower !! What's up with the $ 10 a day parking fee ?? Where else would you park ??? They got you there !! Brunch in the Primrose was very Disapointing for $ 20 a person as we waited for 45 minutes to get a table and then the food not what you would expect at a 5 star resort ! !! Overall I would say look around banff as there are many hotel options that are 3- 4 star that would be a better choice than the Rimrock
