This was an awesome experience. We were there only one night, Nov 2014, wished we could have had more. We were in the top area of the resort, newer section. Rooms were "upscale rustic" if that makes sense. Lots of stone and wood. Entry and bathroom floors were slate tile and heated. Bathroom had large clawed tub, large corner shower. The room and the bathroom were both spacious. Sleeping area had fireplace. Large TV in armoire. Balcony with gorgeous view of mountain. Beds were very comfortable. Room was clean and well equipped with two chairs and a table in front of the fireplace, a desk.
The owners have obviously taken care to choose decor to match the area and the hotel theme.
Restaurant, Sleeping Buffalo, is fine dining. The food was gourmet. A bit pricey but well worth what you pay for it. Service was top notch.
There are a couple of things to know about this resort and the rooms. The resort lies on a hill and there are a lot of stairs. There may be areas of the resort that are wheelchair accessible, but most of the resort is not. The TV's have an alarm clock feature - ours came on in the middle of the night and woke us up. Here's one thing where maybe staff could check and turn off the alarm feature while re-setting room. The coffee provided in the room is very weak. The coffee in the restaurant is very good, so recommended to go to the dining room for your morning coffee.
All in all, this resort is highly recommended. I've stayed in other places that have been the same price, but much more downscale than you get at this lodge for the price you pay.
