It seems that if you live in Banff and run a B&B it gives you a licence to charge what you want and think you can get away with it. This place certainly thinks it can. Well.....
The first and most obvious thing about this place is that the rooms needed to be updated badly. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. We one night unfortunately had to put up with a couple in a room above us going for it and they were oblivious to the fact they thought no one could hear. Wrong!!
The rooms were clean though and the bed comfortable just don't plan on sleeping in with the noise.
The bathroom was also clean and serviced daily along with our room. Our bathroom however did not have a power point. This is a simple necessity and a no brainer if you host people.
The common area with tv is not ideal because a guest room is right next to it and it makes an awkward situation at night.
I couldn't fault Rosemary or Peter for their willingness to help etc but they should probably re direct this energy into updating their establishment.
They do not have any Internet or wifi access. Hello we are in 2011!!!
What astounded me even more is that Rosemary during conversation stated she paid no attention to trip advisor reviews and claimed that hardly anyone used trip advisor so it didn't matter how they ran the B&B. Time for a reality check I think...
The icing on the cake was when she stated she and her husband used to run hotels so they knew what they were doing. Hardly believeable after our stay there.
If you are going to charge upwards of 140 a night you should be able to at least justify it. Sadly this place can not.
