January 24th through 29th we had our wedding at this resort with 30 close friends and family. The hotel is in excellent condition, 2 years old, rooms have every amenity and facilities are new and modern. Staff was excellent from the pool bar to front desk everything is done with a smile. Food was excellent and there is plenty with both buffets and a variety of restaurants from Spanish to French.
Our wedding was amazing and thanks to Adriana and Abigail who handled all of our needs it was better than we ever imagined. Gazebo location was great, outdoor cocktail hour by the lagoon was prefect with the sunset. I must also say that Daniel who handled our reception is a great asset to property and will go above and beyond to serve.
Also Mauricio in the Club Premium will assist with anything requested, his knowledge of local sights and accessibility was a great benefit to have while planning excursions, dinners, etc.
Definitely staying here again!!!!!!!!!

We had a great experience, everything was perfect specially the service. We also love the food, our favorite restaurant was the french one, but also love the japanese.
The location is excelent with the best wide beach, and close to San Jose a nice town to visit.
The hotel help us organice a wonderful boat trip.

We enjoyed a great 2 week stay at the Barcelo with a large group of friends. The hotel grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The food was good. The buffet always had a large selection and the Japanese restaurant was fantastic!

The gym was clean and well equipped.

The staff was friendly and helpful. We had the pleasure of meeting a few that went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay: Carlos at the pool, Lorena and Ana Leon at the buffet, Joselyn and Jesus at the Japanese restaurant.

The one downfall: the main pool was not heated and the water was very cold. Unfortunately, guests were not able to enjoy it as it was intolerable to be in. Though, having said that, the infinity pool was heated.

I would recommend the Barcelo to others who are looking for an all-inclusive vacation.

My daughter (18) and I went for a week at Christmas. The hotel was a wonderful choice. We had a relaxing time with a great room overlooking the ocean. The pools were great and we had lots of room for swims and reads during the week. The food was excellent and I had no issues with the water, or the quality of food. The fresh choices were varied and of quality. My daughter loves sushi, I seafood, and we enjoyed them whenever we wanted them. the Themed restaurants were fun, but the buffets were great too. There were lots of kids and families during the holidays, and lots of kid friendly food to choose from as well as adult choices. The service was always great, and I thought we got great value for our money. I feel better tipping and the service was the same whether we tipped or not. The smiles were wonderful to see, and at Christmas, why not help to make a nicer one for the people working at the hotel?
There is a great beach there for walking and if you don't want to leave the hotel, everything is there for a wonderful holiday. We went hiking, snorkeling, and kayaking too-offsite. We got all our tours booked right in the hotel. We did jump in the ocean alot, and while we didn't swim, we enjoyed the waves. We always felt 100% safe and I would recommend this area for women, because we walked alone on the beach alot, and long walks, and never felt threatened. It was great and I would go back in a minute.
