While this resort may not be Cabo's newest and may not gleam and glimmer in every aspect, it certainly reigns in affordability, cleanliness and top notch service. This retro boutique resort dates back to the 1950's and is nestled in the corridor of Cabo. It's easy access by bus to San Jose AND San Lucas... the best of both worlds. Buses pick up and drop off directly in front of the resort and are super cheap, just a few pecos and you are on your way.
The resort boasts an entertainment room, a full service restaurant/bar, tiled heated pool, hot tubs, and full body massages in the cabana... all over looking the sandy beach and the exquisite turquoise waters of the Sea of Cortes. Relax in the hammock at the crow's nest with a good book and get a bird's eye view of the coastline or take a walk down the beach where you will find gulls, crabs, tropical fish, whales, fantastic rock formations, horseback riding, 4x4 adventures and many other opportunities at your fingertips.
The staff at Marbella are nothing but nice, informative, cheerful and attentive. Stay a couple of days and they will know you by name. Everyone spoke excellent English. As far as the cost... you just can't beat it. We stayed for 4 nights, ate most of our meals at the restaurant, drank enough tequila to make Sammy Hagar blush and we still came out around $500 US dollars.
If you are planning a Cabo wedding, keep the Marbella Sites in mind! Our friends had a beautiful ceremony and intimate reception on the beach and I cannot say enough about the detail, planning, decorations, and catering (to include vegetarian options and fresh seafood) the resort arranged. It was truly a wedding in paradise.
We will definitely go back to the Marbella Suites en la Playa.
