This is where we stayed with our little baby girl for 2 nights - it was different from any other room we have been in before. If felt like if you were a child again and were spending your holiday over your grandma. Funky furniture and original passage to the bathroom. It was cozy even with a little child and the employees brought all our staff up there so no worries about that. Also the surroundings were beautiful - lush garden with parrots, turtles and cats (kids will love it). The jacuzzi next to the tree house was great and only for us. The employees did everything to make us happy - provided a little plastic bath for our baby, parked our car, gave us all advices and directions we asked for and prepared delicious breakfast for us. I would recommend it to anyone who wish to do something out of ordinary and still have all the comfort.

We stayed for two nights in Casa de Liza and absolutely loved it, the whole setting with all the different rooms was just stunning, we spent the first 20 minutes just exploring all the different nooks and crannies in the garden! Our room was the "Tree House" (one of the cheapest) which was pretty much that, up a steep winding stair into a trap-door to enter, we loved it but it might have been more difficult for older people or if we'd had more luggage! The heated jacuzzi was great as well. The service was great, breakfast was fantastic and when my boyfriend got sick they let us keep the room for a few extra hours on the day of checkout and were very helpful in directing me to a pharmacy and even telling me what medicines to get. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone - I would imagine kids would love exploring it as well, and the very friendly cat!

My 3 sisters and I stayed in the Villa Manuela for 3 nights over the San Miguel festival weekend. The location was fantastic just a quick 5-10 minute walk to the main Jardin. The grounds were beautiful. The Villa was an amazing old building with lots of antiques, winding staircase to the 2nd floor, 1 3/4 bath, kitchen, all beautifully maintained and pretty clean for as old as this place is. A little smaller than I was expecting, but it fit the four of us just fine. There was a King Bed, Queen Bed, Sofa Bed, and very small twin for us all to use. There is no A/C, just one ceiling fan in the mater bedroom. The breakfasts were amazingly delicious....though sometimes slow to get all our sides. The overall service was very good....they were very accomodating to our needs, and quick to check on things, lots of bottled water available for the hot days. Lots of material available to read, the local english paper to find events for the weekend, maps we could borrow of the city, The only surprise we had was with regards to using their telephone service to call internationally.... they have good instructions available on how to use it, but no information on the rates and charges. Fortunately we only used it one night and it was such a hassle we decided to use our cell phones and pay the .99 cents/minute on Verizon (but that was WAY cheaper than using their phone service - so AVOID using their phones except for dire emergencies.) MCI and Sprint cards don't work in San Miguel either. We loved our stay there and had a great time. It is one of the few B&B places that can accommodate 4 people traveling together that want to share one accommodation. It provides an authentic Mexico feel too. Be aware, if there are any festivals going on in the town, you will here them...drums, fireworks, church bells...but that would be true for anywhere you stay in the downtown area. If I return to San Miguel with my husband in the future I probably would try a different place though, since there are so many places to stay and I think they are a bit high priced for what you get.

I previously reported that i had difficulty with an overcharge at this B&B. The management was not helpful, and Visa initially credited, and then rescinded, the overcharged amount. I am pleased to report that the problem has now been resolved, and the manager Lorenzo Campos has refunded the excess charge. It did take 6 months to accomplish, but I am happy with the outcome, and would otherwise still strongly recommend the hotel. I am going to attribute the difficulty to the Mexican bank system complicated by some early neglect.
