We walked in and asked for a room in the property across the road from El Mirador. This section is also from Posada Barrancas but it is for Congresses. We paid a third of the Mirador prices but could still eat at the big dinning room and sit at the terrace the whole day admiring landscape and the many hummingbirds that feed there.

We loved our stay at this adobe cliffside hotel! Our room was on the third floor and the view was spectacular at any time of the day or star filled night. Although it gets cool (8000' elevation) and you'll need a coat after the sun sets.
The floor of our room had mexican tiles and there was a kiva fireplace in the corner near the sliding glass door to our private balcony.
We had two double beds, clean and comfortable, but not spectacular. The bathroom had a nice large tiled shower and plenty of hot water.
The meals were good, but not spectacular and the staff were smiling and happy go-lucky.
We walked two trails: one to the overlook and one down to the cave homes. I would have liked to spend another day there so I could hike further down into the canyon and seen more.
