what a fantastic b&b, 15 mins walk from Kinnitty Castle, half the price & with a personal touch. Chris the lovely land lady couldn't make you feel more welcome. My room was everything I needed, good size bed & very comfortable, good on suite. cant wait to stay there again

Five days using Ardmore House and Kinnitty as our base for day trips in Ireland was a great decision. Not only was it centrally located, non-touristy, and a great value, but Christina became our hostess, our trip advisor, our 'den-mother' and our friend. With her hospitality and guidance, we were able to gain a small insight into Irish life from the inside out rather than the usual tourist perspective of the outside in. It was easy to make trips to nearly anywhere in the Republic of Ireland from Kinnitty and we always looked forward to 'coming home'. The only potential downside is that there are limited meal options in Kinnitty beyond a very filling breakfast at Ardmore House and a fixed price evening meal at Kinnitty Castle. All this really means is that you need to plan ahead when you are out traveling in the country, but not a problem to keep you from enjoying the comfort and hospitality of this charming bed and breakfast choice. I stayed here with one of my best mates (and her bridesmaids) who was getting married the day after we arrived in Ardmore House. Chris looked after us all so well. She baked delicious scones and made a nice cup of tea and coffee for us when we arrived, which was grately appreciated. She even accommodated the hairdressers and make up artists the morning of the wedding, which was extremely convenient for us all. It is so obvious that she takes pride in her house, as it is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. It is a 2 minute walk from the village of Kinnitty and very close to the amazing Kinnitty castle. I wish we had more time to enjoy the beautiful scenery within and surrounding area's of Kinnitty.

I truely cannot say enough good things about this bed and breakfast. My friends and I have been to Ireland two years running now, and wanting to see the entire country each time, we've stayed in many B&Bs throughout Ireland. This is by far the best of them. It is a beautiful house with wonderful views on the outside, and inside its warm and cozy. We loved the room, and really enjoyed having tea beside the fire. The most wonderful thing of all though was the proprieter, Christina. First of all, it was one of the few houses that we felt totally comfortable in, like we were visiting an old friend as opposed to invading someones house that they happened to be running a business out of. She was warm and friendly, and very helpful. We had tea on arrival and decided we wanted to go horseback riding. In spite of the late hour she was right on the phone and found someone to take us out, Noel, from Birr Equestrian Center. (It was an exhilerating ride through beautiful scenery, and I'd highly recommend doing it, but that's another review:) She was a great help with everything else we wanted to do, even anticipating some things like our desire to see nearby Leap Castle, and helped us find good places to eat and to see some traditional music (which she herself joined in on the fiddle!) It really was a great time. Not to mention that the village of Kinnitty was lovely, and very close to alot of other great towns and sites. I highly recommend a trip to the area, and defininately recommend that you stay with Christina at Ardmore House.
