Sydney, Australia is known as a global city "down under, " especially the beach area like Manly Beach where we stayed for 4 days in April 2010.
Our very comfortable bed & breakfast was a secluded, neighborhood home near a golf course (Balgowlah) only a few kilometers from the main beach and away from the crowds and the hustle and bustle of tourists.
We both enjoy the beach scene, the walking streets, but for sleep at night, for peacefulness during the day, a quick 15 minute bus ride ($2.00 AUD 1 way) from the Jacaranda Bed & Breakfast is a way to enjoy your stay in Balgowlah -Manly Beach/Sydney. A taxi will cost ($10 AUD+).
The price is right which was about half the cost of a major hotel on the ocean front, and the King bed allowed us both to surf if we wished. The bathroom was clean, organized, and laced with flowers from the Jacaranda tree! As well, our private entrance was located in the back of this spacious brick home in the garden area full of plants, flowers, and birds. What a morning view!
The morning breakfast which was included in the stay was excellent, healthy, fresh, and convinient. The owners, Alison & Ern, were both very helpful in locating the bus stop a few blocks from their home and suggesting various restauarants in the area.
The quality of our stay had everything to do with these two mature Aussies who realize that home can be found abroad with a few personal touches, care, and understanding.
I recomment the Jacaranda Bed & Breakfast in Balgowlah -Many Beach/Sydney, Australia as the best bed & breakfast which I have stayed at in my 40 years of global travel over the planet.
Do not miss the opportunity to sleep well, save money, and meet some very interesting and caring people.
Abraço,
Thomas & Ananyr (both living in Brazil)
