I stayed here because I had an early morning flight to London.
This hotel is about a ten minute walk from the airport in a small valley. You will see a prefabricated set of buildings from the airport--that's the hotel. There's no mistaking it as there is NOTHING else for at least 30 minutes drive away. There's a bar, small restaurant and they do a neat deal with the cafe at the airport for you to get free breakfast (it's pretty grim with processed cheese, yoghurt, cold cuts of none too fresh meat , soft drinks and coffee, tea and hot chocolate, but fills the stomach) if you have an early morning flight. Just show your hotel receipt. They also have a computer in the basement and a solarium.
The rooms are expensive for you get. You pay for location. You can ask for non smoking rooms. The rooms are tiny and could do with remodelling. Each room has two small spartan beds with institutional wooden frames and sagging mattresses and crisp white duvets. There's a small wooden desk and chair and an old easy chair. It's a bit dark. The TV is a tiny old Samsung and they don't have cable.
The bathroom is really odd. It's got a toilet and a sink with a pull out shower hose-- so doubles as your shower. There's a plastic curtain to warp around the sink so you don't splatter the whole bathroom when you shower. It fees more like a youth hostel than an airport hotel.
If arriving before 7 or after 11 PM beware. The staff are off duty and you will have trouble getting in. Ditto if you have a lot of luggage and need an early morning ride to the airport. I had to carry 20 kilos of dive gear 10 minutes to the airport along a road that petered out into volcanic gravel. Other passengers also had to carry their suitcases as there is no way you can roll this stuff on wheels in the mud and gravel (it rains a lot in the faroes so chnaces are there will be mud along the gravel). if this is likley to cause you problems, you may want to stay at a hotel in Torshavn, the capital city and take the morning bus. It may seem tight, but the bus bbbbbbbbarrival times are expertly timed and the check-in is efficient as the airport is so small. You don't need to be there two hours in advance. Passengers were still checking in 30 minutes before the flight.
Atlantic Airways, the national carrrier, will give you a code for free Internet access at the airport.
