Myself and my wife recently stayed on the Polaris resort of Hacienda Riquelme. The Apartment was fantastically positioned on the ground floor with a private garden and right next to a large pool and smaller childrens splash pool. The resort has only been open for around two years but has matured into a lovely relaxing place. The golf course is by far the best of the polaris world courses with more space to play and a real tester for even the most accomplished golfers. The area surrounding the resort is mainly laid to olive and orange groves and the dramatic mountains form a beautiful backdrop. The resort is only 15 minutes from the airport and beaches of the Mar Menor.
The newly developed town centre on the resort is due to open in September 2010 and will come complete with restaurants bars and pro shop. Large supermarket and full changing and shower facilities for golfers. The terrace bar overlooks the 9th and 18th greens and will be an excellent place to relax and watch the golfers .

We have just returned from a lovely relaxing holiday at Hacienda Riquelme. The resort is extremly well maintained and the open green spaces between blocks give it a thoroughly relaxing appearence. We booked through; PolarisWorldApartments.com. and our Apartment had everything they advertised on the website including a fully fitted kitchen. We were in a ground floor Apartment (2 bedrooms) with a terrace and small garden which led directly across to a lovely pool area, with three different pools. The ground floor is ideal for anyone with kids, they can wander back to the Apartment for a cool drink or just cool off. We relaxed on the terrace at night with a cool drink or sometimes went up to the local village of Sucina, where the prices are very resonable.
The entire complex sourrounds an 18 hole Golf Course. At the time we were there all of the "Town Centre" facilities were not completed, but there is a large well stocked Supermarket. The other facilities such as Golf clubhouse bars and restaurants are not complete until Sept. We found it more economical to cook in the Apartment because the kitchen has everything required. We did hire a car and this would be recommended, it gives you freedom to explore the local area. It is ideal for families with small children or Golf groups, but teens would find it too quiet although there are sporting facilities and an outdoor Gym also play areas for younger kiddies. All in all a thoroughly relaxing holiday.

We have stayed twice now here at an apartment we found cheap on the net. you defiantly need a car, no doubt. We go April and May and its never busy, the staff tend to the gardens well and it always looks tidy. all in all a good holiday

I stayed in May with my daughter and mother and was so impressed we have been back again. Resort is lovely, very quiet and relaxing, not all the facilities are finished yet but there is a nice bar and shop on site and everything is only a short drive away. Elisha's attic was fabulous, very clean, very comfortable and the sun terrace overlooking the pool and golf course is amazing. The owner was great to deal with and helped us with lots of information upfront he will even arrange an essentials arrival pack if you request it which was very handy with a young child in tow. I was a little worried after seeing one bad review on trip advisor but found it to be totally to the contrary when we arrived. I would be happy to book again and again. Helen (Manchester)
