I traveled to Isla Mujeres for my destination wedding, bringing along 20 friends who had never been to the island before. Our stay at Casa de los Suenos was one of the highlights of the vacation. Each morning we would wake up, soak in the views and pinch ourselves to see if this really was reality. One room was more charming than the next, and we had a great time using the kitchen to arrange our meals and drinks.
Even more special than this beautiful hotel, however, was the amount of detail and care that our group was provided by Isreal, the hotel's constant manager. He was at our service from sun up to sun down, for any little thing we needed. If someone asked for something that he did not have right away, he would return later to fulfill the request. He even offered to help us cook some fish that we had bought in town for breakfast. His attention to detail and sincere hospitality made us feel like royalty. There is also a staff that works tirelessly to make sure the wonderful details are always in place. Somehow, the maids would know when we were outside of our room and come in and tidy up. We felt extremely secure the whole time, one couple even told us that they had left a lot of money in their room, only to come back later on and find that the money had been folded into fans and placed on top of their bed. Nice touch! A rainstorm hit the island pretty hard late one night, the staff was up and bringing in all of the items that we had left on the pool deck, and tightened down the umbrellas so they would not fly away. The hospitality truly never sleeps.
The ONLY thing we would have changed about our stay was the choice we made to have the hotel's restaurant closed during our stay. Initially we liked that strangers would not be walking through our "private" party, but in hindsight it would have been nice to have the food and drink option.. we had to stock the fridge ourselves. (Which was our choice.)
We loved our stay at Casa de los Suenos. Our intimate wedding was simple and beautiful. We cannot wait to return for another night in the Villa!
