“A vacation tradition in our family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Puerto Madero is our family's first stop when we arrive in Cancun and the never disapoint. The food is always great as well as the service and sunset.
I have been on the surf and turf for the last 5 years so I am not sure about other things on the menu. The steak melts in your mouth and the lobster is great.

“A great restaurant going downhil”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I have been going to puerto madero about 4 times a year for the past 5 years. In the past, the food was very good and they have a few unique menu items that I have always enjoyed. The past two times I have been there I have been very dissapointed. The waiters gave us the wrong food and the food in general is fair. Probably better than many restaurants however not what I have come to expect and certainly not worth the money. I still enjoys Harry's next door and would highly recommend them as an alternative.

“A must dining experience in Cancun, should be in the Top 10!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

This is my first review for Trip Advisor and I chose Puerto Madero to review because I strongly feel that this restaurant should be in the top 10 restaurants of Cancun. Unfortunately it was not Trip Advisor that helped me discover this amazing restaurant, but it was my driver who picked me up from the airport that recommended this restaurant. I stayed at Le Meridien and Puerto Madero is a 10-15 min. walk from the hotel. I had such an amazing dining experience at this restaurant two days into my 2nd trip to Cancun, that my family chose the restaurant for our final night in Cancun! Yes, it's pricey, but worth every penny. Excellent preparations of meat and fish dishes, even side dishes are delicious, everything will melt in your mouth, very efficient, professional service... restaurant is super crowded with very well dressed, beautiful people. Come around 7pm to avoid the crowd. Very relaxed ambience, yet also very classy. I can't find a single flaw with this restaurant after two visits! Worth the splurge! Bon appetit!

“Excellent food & Drink”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Husband & I went here on a recommendation for our last night in Cancun - it was excellent! It is expensive - I wanted white wine and it was delicious but all the white wines started by bottle at a starting price of 500 pesos to 2500 pesos and more. That was fine with us - the martinis were also about 240 pesos each. We had the garlic shrimp appetizer & the tuna tartare to start - AMAZING - both were excellent. My husband got the grilled octopus entree and raved about it. I had seafood pasta - came w/ shrimp, scallops, fish, mussels, & clams. It was very good, I didn't love love the sauce but the seafood was very fresh. We ended with the chocolate molten lava cake served with vanilla ice cream - EXCELLENT! It was a great meal & with 20% gratuity we paid $240 American dollars. Well worth it for us.

The service is outstanding - the waiters were extremely friendly and attentive - the inside of the restaurant is gorgous and we ate on the back deck which faces the bay - very nice!

“just Great!”

Service, food, ambience just impeccable!
Third time dining in Puerto Madero and I have never been disappointed! This time celebrating my wife's bday!
We got the "Ojo de Bife" with asparagus and spinach as garnish! This cut is an amazing 1.7 pounds way enough to share.
Also, it is not on the menu, but the Salmon empanada is just amazing as well as the Tuna one.
Go adventurous and order a beer that is not Corona, ask for a Leon or Victoria, both great with meat.
For dessert, if you still have space order the chocolate cake, not like any other out there, also flan is really good.
