“Wonderful, romantic dinner!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

The setting is so romantic. The hostess guides you downstairs to the dining room that overlooks the pool/ocean and is lit with a bunch of candles. A saxophonist also plays every night. The food was amazing and our server, Job, was also great. I had the gnocchi and loved it. Probably not the best place for a family to eat at but great for date night.

“OMG! SO GOOD!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

First of all need a reservation for this Italian restaurant. This restaurant was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we walked in the door to when we walked out, the service was impeccable. The Hostess told us everything is made on the premises. and explained the set up as she escorted us to our table. We enjoyed Bellini's before ordering dinner. After we ordered the waiter brought out complimentary appetizer. Then we were given our choice of breads. All of our food from salads, pallet cleanser, dinner and dessert was outstanding-Cannot say enough. There was a saxophone player that I was dreading(often you cannot have table conversation with the noise not so here!) was very good. Our surprise at the end of the meal I won't ell what it was, was the icing on the cake to make the evening special. We are planning on eating here again at the end of the week.

“Best restaurant at the two Marriotts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We ate at almost every restaurant at the JW Marriott and the Marriott Casa Magna next door, and this was easily the best. We ate once on the normal menu, and a second time for the New Years Eve fixed price dinner.

They serve innovative Italian/Continental dishes with great flavor. We enjoyed the antipasta. The seafood pasta was cooked perfectly; the pasta was al dente and the seafood retained all of its flavor. My wife had the seabass in wax paper and enjoyed it. My beef filet was a little overcooked, but the cabernet sauce made the dish. For the New Years fixed price, we had an 8-course meal with very dramatic and innovative presentation.

The service was good, not great. On our second visit, we had to ask 4 times before receiving more bread. The service at all of the Marriott restaurants is always a little slow, but they are well-meaning.

Unfortunately, all of the restaurants share the same list of wines by the glass, and none are great. But the list of wines by the bottle here is very extensive.

“Delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

The food here is wonderful. The staff are friendly and the saxophonist adds a nice touch. After coming down on a lovely staircase you can view the wine cellar. The pear salad is wonderful! In between the salads and our main courses we had a wonderful cleansing palate sorbet. The gnocchi was good but the sauce was a little too creamy and heavy. For dessert we had the tasting of gelatos and sorbets-- which were all delicious and the tiramisu. I wouldn't recommend bringing any little kids here but other than that anyone would enjoy it!
