We recently held our 100 person wedding at Hotel Casa Oaxaca. WE LOVED IT!! The entire event was magnificent, and many of our guests told us it was the best wedding they had attended.
The location is lovely- very centrally located within the pedestrian-friendly historic center of Oaxaca, the hotel is a organized around a lovely courtyard. The plants, white plastered walls, and furniture make it an elegant oasis within the city. The pool in the back is great too, as is the upper gallery with views of the hills behind and Santo Domingo a few blocks away. The intimacy of the courtyard was a beautiful setting for our wedding.
The event planning with Liliana was easy and accommodating. She worked with us on specifics for ceremony location, number of guests (which changed up until the week before), and a menu and budget that worked for us. Conversations with her and the chef and a delicious tasting put our minds at ease in regards to the food served at the wedding. Everything was taken care of day of and we didn't have to worry about a thing.
The food is to die for! We had gone to the restaurant before, and were befuddled with the numerous excellent choices. Liliana accommodated vegetarian needs and overall the quality and presentation of the food at the wedding was impeccable. The quality and presentation was already outstanding in our experience at the restaurant and at our tasting, but at the event, it was even better!!! They really take care. Breakfast was also delicious (and included in a night's stay).
The staff at the hotel in general and specifically during our event was very attentive, personable, and warm. Many guests commented on the staff's attention to detail. "They clearly understand luxury at Casa Oaxaca because they anticipate your every need and desire." was one guest's comment.
We stayed at the hotel with our immediate families for two nights. The rooms were all very nicely furnished, complete with books and art, and all different. The sheets were awesome! (We found the local weaver and bought a couple sets for home.)
While nightly hotel rates are not on the cheap end, Liliana worked with us and offered us a package that turned out to fit our budget and when compared to other options in Oaxaca, turned out to be the best value by far. We cannot emphasize enough how delighted we are to have had our wedding at Hotel Casa Oaxaca. We hope to make it a regular vacation spot in our future!
