“Beyond expectations....”

We have heard/read about Casa Oaxaca for years, and although we have visited Oaxaca several times, this was our first stay at C.O. We were there 5 days, after a couple of weeks on the coast at Puerto Escondido, and it was exactly what we needed. The hotel is quiet and relaxing. The staff are wonderful.. professional, helpful, knowledgeable, relaxed...Our room was lovely (and huge), and the food was the best we had in Oaxaca. (including better than the partner restaurant, Casa Oaxaca which always gets more press..). The same executive chef but a different menu using local ingredients and new incarnations of traditional Oaxacan flavours...the chef and her team at the restaurant were incredible.
The pool was a real asset as the temperatures were unseasonably high when we were there. The drinks were amazing. (my husband is still trying to perfect the cucumber mescalini that he was smitten with)
We would definitely stay again, can't wait to go back, and wish we were there...we love Oaxaca and the people.

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms may be noisy if an event happenig

“Great location, beautiful design, amazing breakfast”

We stayed for three nights at Casa Oaxaca and loved it.

It was a fantastic location, with great staff that were friendly, attentive (without being overly so) and took an interest in your travels. (ie. Everything a great boutique hotel service should be). The pool was a great haven after hitting the streets of Oaxaca or Monte Alban. The design was exceptional and we loved the courtyard area.

A real highlight was the food - of an evening we started each night with Guacamole, Cheese and Margaritas (amazing!!!). Breakfast was always a highlight with the Hot Chocolate to die for. Seriously good! A would highly recommend a candlelit dinner on the upstairs balcony. Very romantic and sensational views over Oaxaca and under the blanket of stars. We visited the Casa Oaxaca restaurant and found the food better here.

The only issue could be noise in your rooms if there was a wedding in the courtyard or something but we did not have that. We had zero complaints from our stay and numerous positives!

I wish I was back there now!!!

“A magical wedding and beautiful stay with family and friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 March 2011

We had the opportunity to stay in Casa Oaxaca for about 4 days and also have our wedding reception recently in mid February. We couldn't have asked for a better place! We had the whole hotel to ourselves and we really felt like home, intimate, like if we all were just in a big house. The hotel is a very nice boutique hotel, with lovely architecture, the rooms are beautiful- each decorated differently but keeping the elegant Mexican style decoration and design details, it also has some great common space areas to enjoy such as the main patio, a nice terrace, the pool area that have great sun light, from the terrace you can have nice views of Santo Domingo and it all remains a nice atmosphere without any street noise.

The service and the attention every single day from of ALL the hotel staff was OUTSTANDING and most specially Liliana Meixueiro! I have no doubt this contributed to a nice relaxing stay but also to having a perfect wedding where everything was under control and I had nothing to worry about. All of our family members and friends were highly impressed with the service as well and had a lot of good things to say.

I can´t say enough good things about the food. We got to taste a variety of food throughout our stay, beginning with a wonderful breakfast everything freshly made and the option to choose from a variety of delicious dishes and by the way included with your stay. We had great snacks while enjoying the sun at the pool and the food at the wedding was the best! Great credit to their head chef at the hotel and to Chef Alejandro who is the author of some of the most amazing food you will ever eat.

Oaxaca City in general is a wonderful place full of culture, food, colors, sorrounding archeological sites and amazing places to visit for crafts such as black pottery and alebrijes. Casa Oaxaca is very centrally located just one block from the Temple of Santo Domingo and a couple of blocks from the main zocalo and the main markets.

I have only great things to say about our experience in Hotel Casa Oaxaca, beautiful place, wonderful service, attention, food, and lovely staff. It was like being at home, and have no doubt in staying here next time I visit.

I highly recommending everyone to stay here when you visit Oaxaca and if you are thinking of getting married in this magical city top yourl wedding in Santo Domingo with a beautiful reception at hotel Casa Oaxaca, you and all your guest will love it!

Very tastefully designed and built. Terrific staff. Grand breakfasts. We asked to have dinner there the first night---had the place to ourselves, dining under the stars, a great barman, excellent waiters--what could be finer?

“Wonderful Service”

We stayed at Casa Oaxaca for 4 nights. The hotel is very pleasantly located in the historical city center, it has a beautiful courtyard and spacious rooms. Everything is elegantly decorated and spotless. Breakfast is a la carte and aside from typical Mexican style dishes, there tasty other options. Make sure you try their fresh pancakes.

While the hotel is beautiful by itself, it is really the people and the service that make the experience unforgettable. Agustine greets you at breakfast and makes sure that his staff makes you feel at home. We had a wonderful meal at the restaurant and we took the cooking class with chef Alejandro. I would recommend both!
