The hotel is very well located...not in the downtown, but is 10 blocks from downton and 3 blocks from Santo Domingo where all the main activities occurs in Oaxaca. The hotel is kind of boutique with 15 rooms, amenities, tv with cable, air conditioned, and many beauty details. Hugliy recommended for price, location and good appareince

The hotel and the folks running this place are fantastic. It's an elegant Colonial hotel located in the quiet part of town - a six minute walk to the city center - which means alot in this city. There´s a pool and jacuzzi, and a business center. All of the rooms have Sky television and wi-fi connection. The restaurant is upstairs on the roof terrace with great views of the city and there´s a cozy bar downstairs. The chef prepares traditional Oaxacan dishes and international food. I've stayed in Oaxaca five times and nothing compares. The place really is the best kept secret in Oaxaca.

We stayed in Hostal de los Pilares after the hotel we had booked failed to keep a room for us (!) They were able to accommodate us after 11pm on the night before Good Friday and the staff were some of the nicest we have dealt with in all of our travels. They made us feel very welcome, and were always on hand if there was anything we needed. Given that they were a last minute substitution, we were extremely pleased to find that they were so helpful, and that the location was so good - not in the thick of the action at the Zocalo (so very quiet) and not too far away to stroll into town. We were surprised to discover that they had not yet been reviewed here, and we would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a comfortable base in Oaxaca. Oh, and they had free (& fast!) Wifi too!
