“Great place!”

The room does not have a TV, This B&B is not a luxurious place, Sometimes you will not have water or electricity but... You know what.. This is the best place to stay in Guanajuato, Rick knows everything about the history of México and offers the best breakfast in town! I will back soon for sure. You will be very close to "El pipila" and the view is amazing! Also Rick share with you a FUNICULAR Pass! It was a wonderful experience and a lovely anniversary.

“Retreat above the city”

The location of this lovely B&B can't be faulted. Situated by the Pipila monument, above the city, you have simply gorgeous views over the pretty town. There is a funicular which gets you into town within minutes if you can't face the walk down the callejon....although more likely it's back up the hill when you'll take advantage! The breakfasts are spectacular as well! Rick is super friendly and is a wealth of knowledge about the area and the history. The only slight niggle is that not all the rooms get wifi, so you need to wander down to the lounge to get internet. Not a major really.

Room Tip: I travelled with a friend, and they offer a room with two separate sleeping areas, which was a treat...

“perfect spot”

Casa Zuniga overlooks the historic city of Guanajuato, Mexico. At night from the terrace the old part of the city looks like a wonderland below. The hotel is at the top of a funicular railway railway which allows easy access to the old town, as opposed to hundreds of stairs. The rooms were large, clean, and nicely furnished. The morning breakfast was large and tasty. Rick Zuniga goes all out to share his passion for local history, shopping, cuisine, and respect for the culture. No qualms about returning. Strong recommendation if you're going there.

Room Tip: didn't view other rooms.

“Wonderful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2011

We had a great stay at Casa Zuniga. It is located near the top of the funicular, so you have a fantastic view of the valley below, and can appreciate some quiet at the end of a busy day of trecking around Guanajuato. Rick and Carmen are excellent hosts. Rick shared all his knowledge and passion for the local area and gave us a tour of places we never could have found in any guide book. The breakfasts were perfect. We had the best chili rellenos that we have ever had. The B&B is very clean, with well furnished rooms. The place is newly built so the rooms are larger and showers work better than some of those older B&Bs. TV is available in the lounge, where you are welcome to sit, per Rick , though we never ended up using it, since we were so exhausted at the end of each day. The city is just beautiful. Don´t miss it, and do stay here. This guest house may not be suitable for small children as there are alot of open roof spaces and stairs.

Room Tip: We liked the Morgan room, which has a king bed, and a balcony overlooking the valley, and a nice lou...
