I spent 2 nights at Villa Roxana which is in Pie de la Cuesta (20 min north of Acapulco). The hotel has about 15 rooms, a pool with deckchairs as well as open areas with hammocks. The staff are very friendly and trustworthy (i.e you can help yourself to drinks from a fridge and add the number you've had on a list). Breakfast is optional but tasty and good value for money.

The hotel is located about 1 min walk from the beach and the location is very tropical with the sea on one side, a road and then a laguna. The rooms are nice and have ceiling fans as well as bathrooms. The emphasis on the whole place is relaxation. It's mostly a hotel frequented by couples as well as small families. At night it's a very calm place to stay compared to the hustle and bussle of Acapulco. The only thing you can hear at night are the sound of the waves hitting the beach and early in the morning the odd car.

It's within easy reach of Acapulco by bus (journey lasts between 30-40 min and costs 5 pesos) and by taxi (20 min about 80 pesos). Pics will be posted soon...
