Spent 2 wks. @ Brisas del Sol Villas, Acapulca. Overall, the villas are wonderful, but there are a couple of things potential visitors should be aware of. It seems virtually all the people who go there are Canadians who got their accommodations through ------------. When the winning bid is confirmed you are sent a copy of the terms & it shows that the package includes all charges. However, when you have completed your stay & are checking out you get a nice little surprise! The owner of Brisas del Sol insists that you owe Mexican taxes of 15 + 2 % which ammounts to approx. $200.00 per week if you are renting a 3 bdm. villa. This will tick you off of course, but the worse part is that there is no one at this resort that speaks English, or just a few words @ most, so it is really hard to communicate with anyone. This made things somewhat difficult throughout our stay but we weren't too upset with that as I realize that if one is travelling to a foriegn country, you should learn the basics of their language in order to get by. However I still believe that a resort that caters mostly to Canadians & Americans, should at least have one person on hand who can speak English. This resort is owned by a very wealthy Mexican family & I can't believe how they treat their guests when it comes to communicating & trying to settle problems. We & several other guests @ the Villas were told that the owner would meet with us to resolve the tax dispute but he never did show up even though we waited hours for appointments. We loved the Villas in general but would definitely not return because of the the disrespect & disreguard shown to us by the owner.
