“Great Service, beautiful facitilities, gorgeous view. Dont stay at a mega resort when you could stay here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2010

My parents and I had a wonderful time at Quinta Real during our 5 night stay. Everyone was very friendly and learned my father's name immediately. the thatched roof lobby is separated from the guest rooms by a short sidewalk lined by plants and flowers. The whole complex meanders along the beach front and is not very big compared to the mega resorts surrounding. There was an electrical problem when we arrived and we were quickly shuttled next door to the pierre marquez without any problem. the pierre marquez was like any other beach hotel. pool in the middle, patio restaurants around it, and several buildings of rooms. you could not see the beach very well because of the fence that separates it from the hotel. double room was small, but adequate. food was definitely not impressive, and prices for drinks etc... were a little inflated. we were so happy when we returned to quinta real because of the superior service and peaceful/intimate ambiance. the infiniti pool was AMAZING. especially because swimming in the beaches is dangerous due to the strong undertow. we spent an entire day in a thatched hut next to the pool, drinking two for one tropical drinks. the restaurant was very nice, food was pretty good. but nothing can compare to the view over the ocean and being one of few in the dining area.
The icing on the cake was the spa. i dont know how the prices are now, but last year my mother and i spent an afternoon in the spa for 100 dollars each. It included a couples massage, two body wraps, exfoliation treatment, and hydromassage. although it was indoor, the large window facing the ocean, the aromatherapy, and sound of the waves literally caused me to go into an altered state. it was great, and the attention by the masseuse was top rate. I got the feeling that this was a popular hotel with mexican tourists as opposed to americans. This was actually better because at the pierre marquez, the sound of kids shrieking and the busy common areas made it very difficult to find tranquility. i wouldnt recommend acapulco as a destination, there are much better cities in mexico. but if you go, definitely go to the quinta real, we were treated like royalty. from the welcome cocktails, chilled face towels, complementary bottle of wine that appeared in our room, to the wonderful service. this is definitely the best place for a more peaceful or romantic getaway.

“Wonderful relaxing holiday, great pool and service, slightly dated rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2010

We had a lovely relaxing weekend at the Quinta Real, the highlight is the pool which is beautifully situated, just get there early to put your towel on a sunbed! The cocktails and food by the pool were really nice, the food probably better than in the restaurant. The beach is nice and quiet although we didn't spend much time there.

Even though the hotel was quite full you the architecture means that it never feels crowded. The service from every member of staff we encountered was exceptional, everyone said hello when you met them in the corridors.

The rooms were the only part which could do with some improving - the view was great but the decor slightly dated and could do with a revamp, no WiFi in the rooms which we would have expected in a 5 star hotel. We did enjoy the Molton Brown bath products, bathrobes, slippers etc. All in all a very nice break, recommended!

“An Isolated Beautiful Oasis”

The Hotel is located in the new Diamante zone, close to the Airport ,and aprox 20 min by car from downtown Acapulco. The hotel was built on a hill with an excellent view of the Ocean and "Revolcadero Beach", There is a combined system of 2 separate elevators to access the swimming pool and beach.
The rooms are big and clean but no carpets, no wall decor, neither electrical outlets for Laptops. The room decor is poor, not comparable with other Quinta Real Hotels.
The main Restaurant, where breakfast and dinner are served, has a great ocean view and the food is good and well priced.
If you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to relax this is the place, but if you are looking for "action" is better to look for another hotel closer to Acapulco.
All the staff is excellent, good attitude and customer focus

“Does not meet the 5* rating of the Quinta Real Group”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2009

Great staff, good location away from the main bay and whilst the rooms are tired/dated they are in the process of being renovated. Directly on a quiet section of the beach at one end of the bay, good pools and very impressive grounds/common areas. The biggest letdown was the food offering and especially the breakfast which was way below what would be expected/offered in a 3* hotel. There was little variety and the fruit on offer was covered in flies and unappealing. The room service was also poor and the restaurant evening meals were also not of the standard expected in this type/grade of hotel. We ate a couple of times in the restaurant in the evenings and we were the only clients despite the hotel being very busy. The beachside restaurant was much better but only operated at lunchtimes.

“Good but not Great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2008

The hotel chain Quinta Real is a luxury hotels, so that is what you expect...

The lobby is amazing, the view so beautiful and the service very good, the problem started when they told us there was a construction going on (I called to ask for some last minute update about the hotel, services, etc and didn tell me), also a big group was in the hotel and of course they will use some areas (hate that!!!) ... our room was in the "construction section" of the hotel, we were soooooooo mad, because we selected the hotel based that is a small (80 rooms aprox ) hotel and away from the rest... they changed us to another room that was kind of old, that after 2hrs of (yes and no) we upgraded to a suite gobernador, first they offered to upgraded us, then they said it wasnt available, well long story short, we got the suite(we paid for it), biigggggg and very nice, you can´t hear the noise , however it is not an upscale hotel, the suite has a small pool and the water is ICE COLD and there is no way that you could get in, no jacuzzi

The bed was soooooo firm, the pillows were not fluffy at all, the towels saw better days, everything needs a MAJOR RENOVATION

they have nice Molton Brown soaps, shampoos, etc

to go to the pool area, you have to take a different elevator and you could end in another hotel!! or club, that is next to the hotel pool and it has a sign but you can miss it.

the pool is very small, but very nice, we were there for a week and was fine, service is great, food is good, drinks too...from the pool, looking toward the rooms, you can see that it needs some painting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lobby is the fifth floor, third floor you change to the pool elevator, spa is one floor down (no elevator)... I was having a massage and you could heard all the construction noise, they called to stop it (that is what they do for everybody) but they didnt for like 10-15 mins, soooo bad, the treatment was ok, but I couldn enjoy it

Last day, the elevator to go to the pool wasnt working, so somebody helped me with my baby´s stroller(three floors) ... toooo badddd

Every day, we got some treats at our room, I dont know if that is normal, or because we were in a suite or because I was complaining too much (phone also wasn´t working fine)

From the lobby to go to the rooms, you use stairs and then the elevator, however if you havea stroller(like us) or wheelchair, you take the bell boys ramp!!!! so you have to go inside the staff cquarters, luggage and stuff to go to your room... not nice

the restaurant food is good, very good

Ok, wasn´t the good experience we were looking for, however, I think is a good hotel, not luxury like St. Regis, Four seasons or like other Quinta Real hotels... we hope that the renovation will be good for them, If you go, please ask for renovation/big group conventios, that can make a big difference for your vacation, and not just here, ask that everytime you make a reservation in a hotel
