“Avoid this dump at all costs”

This is the worst exposure I've ever had to contempt, oblique threats, and dismissive, patronizing rudeness in ANY hotel ANYWHERE. The staff were as bad as they could be --without demanding an open confrontation. Slimy. This hotel -- and Acapulco itself to a large extent -- are a poor commentary on the great country of Mexico, its wonderful people, and its long valued place in our hearts. I really, really recommend that all travellers avoid La Tortuga. It will leave a bad smell in your nostrils and a bad taste in your mouth for years.

“Mexican style”

Very very Mexican. You can see a lot of spanish speaking people in there. Hotel was nice and clean, staff was very helping, but the noise from the springbreakers... gosh... We stayed there for 2 nights and it didnt get any better. We thought it will be a nice chance to get away from noisy american teens (mean: springbreakers), but they found us even there :).

“Really Mexican, but sping breaker's time”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 March 2006

The hotel seems to be meant for mexican families with children. That's ok if you don't care about some noise.
The staff is friendliy and helpful, the rooms are kept clean and fresh.
The most of the guests during our stay were joung american "spring-breakers" drinking lots of alcohol en screaming and shouting alsmost 24hrs a day.
Opposite to the hotel a few disco's are located makeing noise, noise , noise. If you want to sleep in that hotel you can best do this in day-time. It's impossible to do so between 10.00 pm and 04.00 a.m. And then it takes at least one our before noise of returning "spring-breakers" to their rooms finishes. I never had an ideae that young american boys and girls drink so much and make such a noise. For people who want to have a calm vacation I suggest to stay away from this hotel in march.
But I will come there again, but early february and not later.

“Wonderful experience”

The first thing to remember is "YOU ARE IN MEXICO".

We stayed for a full week and had a wonderful time. The staff was pleasant, the room was comfortable (and clean), The food was excellent, the service was outstanding and the pool with swim up bar was great.

Most of the snooty people that would complain about this place would probably find something wrong with the Waldorf.

If you truly want a nice hotel at an affordable price, then this is the place.
