“Noisy hard beds crap food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

If you like to sleep all day and go out until 7 am in the morning then this is the ideal place to go.
2 nd floor opposite the bars on the main drag wasn't the place to be, hard beds concrete would have had more give, an inflatable doll would have given you more help then the staff.

Room Tip: Don't go there sleep on the beach it would be nicer

“The Tortuga hotel should be avoided.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Our family stayed at this hotel and lasted one night. We came affiliated through our timeshare and was assured it was a good trade. But it wasn't.
The locks for the rooms were from many years ago and there was no dead bolt installed either. The patio doors didn't even close properly. There are a number of bars across the street that play music quite loudly until the wee hours of the morning and you could hear it plain as day. And the beds were so hard. They were like sleeping on concrete. There was no room safe available and all valuables had to be left at the front desk.
I would not recommend this hotel. Although its in a wonderful spot overlooking Acapulco Bay, it's not worth your time and money. The staff were friendly and tried to accomodate us, there's only so much they can do with an old hotel.

“Place should be condemned it's not a 3 *** start hotel by any means!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2011

I would tell anyone who is thinking about or about to book this hotel is to get another place it's a dump!!

The front desk was a joke no one spoke a word of English and gesturing was all we could do to get our room!!

The floor in the foyer shook all the time you stood or sat there.... felt like a mini earthquake!! This was located near the front desk and close to the waterfall fountain at the back of the lobby.

There is a nightclub/disco that plays really really loud music until 4:00 am and there is no one dancing in it! It kept us awake all night and we had early morning plans booked!!

They claim to have a coffee bar and nice restuarant.... There is a restuarant but no one was ever eating there.

They said they had internet/wifi, no interent/wifi connections available after 10pm as they shut it down at 10pm and then they could not tell us again when it would start up!! Not that we actually had a connection but occasionally our cell phones (Iphones) would connect only a matter of seconds/ minutes and then die!!

The quality of the air conditioning in the room is filthy!! You will see pictures when I post them. You can smell stong vapours of open raw sewage, mold in the room, the place is in total disrepair, there has been no maintenence done in the hotel in pobably 30-40 years - my guess!

The room itself looked like it was falling apart, broken furniture, no tv remote, no lights or lamps working!! The dressers and cupboards where you put you things are broken doors flying off the hinges!!

The wiring is all done with extension cords and a fire hazzard waiting to happen!!

The beds are hard and uncomfortable, the panels above the bed seemed to want to fall right on top of us.... As for the bedding/sheets well.... we thought they were clean until we saw the blood stains!!

The floors were grimmy and not clean and over all I felt like I was staying in a condemned filthy builing, I wouldn't dare to walk on the floors with my bare feet.

I even showered in my thongs on for fear that the bathrooms too were not cleaned well!!

I really felt unsafe the windows didn't lock, door rattled and weremade of thin plywood!!!

As for the pool area it looked nice, but the water was ice cold as no sunlight ever hit the pool during the day, as it was behind the hotel itself.

We changed rooms once to get away from the loud disco, but after staying in there we dicovered there was mold in the room, which I am extremely allergic to, then there was the stentch of raw sewage and scary electrical!!

We decided for our health we needed desparately to change hotels!!

The worse thing was we were told this was supposed to be a 5 ***** star hotel and I wouldn't even want my worse enemy to stay here!!!

“Nice Hotel in Acapulco”

The architecture is nice. The rooms are big enough. The swimming pool is nice. Is relative cheap (70USD one person). In the "classic" Acapulco Beach.
