“Steer well clear unless you like watered down juices and chicken bones”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2011

My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant for breakfast after walking past it the night before and being attracted to the decor. When we arrived for breakfast we were seated in the outside courtyard, which was a lovely setting. We ordered the breakfast special that was advertised on the table with a fantastic looking picture of fresh exotic fruits, pure juices and tempting savoury dishes. When the juice came out it was very obviouslly watered down to the point that you could barely taste the fruit. Next was the fresh fruit which was almost lost on the small plate and rather than the exotic selection shown on the advert was a bit of orange (including most of the pith) and some apple. Being quite disheartened at this point we were hoping that the Chicken Enchilada would be nice so that not all was lost (I had ordered mine without cheese due to a food intolerance). They both came out with cheese, so I sent mine back, only to have the same dish return with the cheese simply scraped off! Being ravenous by this point I decided that I would just eat the food, as we had much planned for that day and time was of the essence. Having decided to eat the food I just couldn't believe it when I took my first bite into small chicken bones. On further examination of the Enchiladas it was quite apparent that the Chicken used was the left over scraps (Enchilada should be made with chicken breast) scraped from the carcass of the chicken and was not even suitable for feeding to a pet. Needless to say that this was the final straw and we stood up and walked out of the restaurant informing the manager that we were disgusted with the quality of the food and that he would not be paid.

“Loved it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2011

It was a beautiful location and a welcome respite from so many other restaurants that all felt very much the same. The food was delicious. Was it worthy of 5 stars? Who knows... I don't really eat at 5 star restaurants. I have no complaints and visited twice during my week stay in La Paz.

“Beautiful courtyard dining Real...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2010

Beautiful courtyard dining

Real charming location, decent food. Pizza and soup not bad, but the highlight was the goats cheese salad - lovely mixed salad leaves which they later mentioned they purchase from an organic farm in Todos Santos.
Looks like a good option for all day dining too - low season but currently open 8am to midnight. Enjoy!

“Have been here many times over the past...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2010

Have been here many times over the past several years. It's consistent and well priced. The courtyard garden setting is priceless. Good wines, great goat cheese, and a great mojito (we watched them pick the mint!). Location right off the malecon makes it easy for those on foot.

“Charming find in La Paz!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2010

We happened upon La Boheme by chance and consider it another of our many pleasant surprises in La Paz. Charming euro/mexican setting by day and sultry, romantic by night. Lovely food, nice wines, and reasonably priced. Warm and friendly staff and welcoming French owner, Marjorie. Another reason to come back to La Paz!
