“Wonderful ambiance and Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

I've been here a few times and overall it is one of my favorite restaurants in La Paz. I have had a couple things on the menu I wasn't a big fan of but thier Smoked Salmon Fettucini is probably one of the best I've ever had. My husband loves their sweet coconut curry sauce with shrimp and dorado. Their Mediterranian Salad rocks!!!
I do wish they would get a better wine selection though. Their house wine is yucky.
It is housed in a 158 year old house and has a very romantic courtyard. I could spend hours out there! The bar and front room are adorable as well.
Their wait staff are amazing!

“Enjoyed the courtyard but not the food...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

We had lunch at La Boheme.
Our global impression was that the place could be great with a better management and a better chef. The building is nice and the courtyard is potentially fabulous. When we were there, there was obviously a lack of maintenance.
The pizza we got was ok. But the gazpacho was not good. As if, it had been watered down.
We would recommend the place for a drink.

“quirky, cute and enjoyable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2011

Gorgeous outdoor dining area - though beware of falling berries landing on your head (and in your drinks) whenever a breeze blows!

Friendly staff who seemed to care that diners were happy - especially the woman who greeted us and checked on us throughout our meal. The food seemed to be a fusion of Mexican, Italian and French and is more European bistro in style. The pizzas were nice, with a really thin base and a cute swirly crust which had a very slight sweet taste that made them delicious. The beef carpaccio was lovely.

There was an evening outdoor performance of some musical theatre, and whilst I have no idea what it was about as it was all in Spanish, it was really sweet and enjoyable. Something about a singer making her way in the world (I think!) - which seemed very popular with other diners who grasped more of what was going on.

Overall - it was nice, and the dining terrace out the back is a bit of a quiet oasis. High on ambience with pleasant food.

“Steer well clear unless you like watered down juices and chicken bones”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2011

My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant for breakfast after walking past it the night before and being attracted to the decor. When we arrived for breakfast we were seated in the outside courtyard, which was a lovely setting. We ordered the breakfast special that was advertised on the table with a fantastic looking picture of fresh exotic fruits, pure juices and tempting savoury dishes. When the juice came out it was very obviouslly watered down to the point that you could barely taste the fruit. Next was the fresh fruit which was almost lost on the small plate and rather than the exotic selection shown on the advert was a bit of orange (including most of the pith) and some apple. Being quite disheartened at this point we were hoping that the Chicken Enchilada would be nice so that not all was lost (I had ordered mine without cheese due to a food intolerance). They both came out with cheese, so I sent mine back, only to have the same dish return with the cheese simply scraped off! Being ravenous by this point I decided that I would just eat the food, as we had much planned for that day and time was of the essence. Having decided to eat the food I just couldn't believe it when I took my first bite into small chicken bones. On further examination of the Enchiladas it was quite apparent that the Chicken used was the left over scraps (Enchilada should be made with chicken breast) scraped from the carcass of the chicken and was not even suitable for feeding to a pet. Needless to say that this was the final straw and we stood up and walked out of the restaurant informing the manager that we were disgusted with the quality of the food and that he would not be paid.

“Loved it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2011

It was a beautiful location and a welcome respite from so many other restaurants that all felt very much the same. The food was delicious. Was it worthy of 5 stars? Who knows... I don't really eat at 5 star restaurants. I have no complaints and visited twice during my week stay in La Paz.
