After staying at a small guesthouse costing £25 p. night, we were looking forward to the slight luxury of a bigger hotel. I probably would rather stay in the first place again next time (Harvest House).
The Heritage cost £50 per night and I think that would have been fair if the service were improved. The staff showed complete disdain for all customers and zero warmth - minus one security guard who chatted to us and offered us a hotel umbrella when a rain storm hit.
POSITIVES:
> The room was very nice and large.
> The balcony, though small and sheltered, was good to have.
> Only about 10 minute walk from beach / seafront and on my preferred road in Ao Nang.
> Next to a very, very friendly little bar. Literall a bar and about 4 tables under a small shelter. The owner was lovely and made us welcome while we waited for a rainstorm to pass.
NEGATIVES:
> Very, very poor staff with no warmth.
> We were a little unsure about the connecting door to the next room, as there was no lock on it and only a big square seat thing pushed up against it.
> No safe in the room, which we were really unhappy about.
> Some things were tatty - i.e. back of the curtains had masking tape on them
> They mistakenly tried to charge us at reception for things from the minibar that we had not taken, and were not very amicable about trying to resolve the issue.
The pool was nice, although very, very hot with no breeze. But about 15 sunloungers and a happy hour between 4-5pm at the pool bar (which we did not use).
If the service had been better, I would stay again mostly for location.
