My boyfriend and I have stayed twice now at the Sabai Mansion this month and I have enjoyed it both times! The first time we booked through agoda and stayed in the most expensive block out of the two in a corner room with a breathtaking view out of two lovely large windows. We payed 600 Baht per night with just a fan but after a couple of days upgarded to 750 baht with air con as the rooms were very hot and smelt a little musty without air con. The room was very spacious and you are provided witha mini bar of soap each, a bottle of water to share and two toilet rolls daily. There is a tv in each room ( three English channels news, Syfy and Universal when working ) and a fridge. The rooms are cleaned everyday by three cleaning ladies although they seem to spend more time in a small room by the pool gossiping than they do cleaning rooms, they also do like to stop and stare and even talk & laugh about the guests if you are sunbathing by the pool which is very uncomfortable. During our first stay here we were not getting our soaps replaced after the first day so we assumed that the soaps were just a one off but after speaking to the owner we found that you should get them everyday. This issue was sorted out from then on though. The rest of the staff who work here are totally different and really lovely. The guys who work on reception day & night are both extremely friendly and very professional - a credit to the hotel!!! There is also a maintenance guy who is constantly working around the hotel and he is also very friendly! There is a great pool which we really loved, unfortunately there is a seat and a few tiles missing in the pool and the bamboo sunloungers are in desperate need of replacing and are held together by cable ties but these issues could be down to the fact that the owner is trying to sell the hotel - if the cleaners were replaced and these jobs fixed I would give this hotel 5 out of 5. The second time we stayed in the cheaper block, the rooms are 590 baht with air con and are just a smaller version of the more expensive block. You still get a tv, smaller fridge etc but the table and chairs outside the rooms in this block again need replacing or a really good scrub. You can hire a dvd player for 100 baht for 24 hours and there is a good selection of dvd's to borrow - perfect on a rainy day ( of which we had several ) and a restaurant by the pool that opens during the daytime. Overall this is a great hotel - I wish I could afford to buy it! The reception staff and spacious pool make this hotel an excellent choice in Ao Nang!
