“Great location”

We stayed here for 6 nights and really enjoyed our stay.
The staff are very attentive and speak good English. We asked for a poolside room after 3 days in the garden room we booked, and they gave us a free upgrade.

The breakfast were really good value, excellent selection of foods of all types and lovely, breezy location overlooking the beach. We had lunch at the hotel restaurant once also and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced.

We walked into AoNang proper everyday. Takes about 10 minutes to walk to main area of restaurant and shops.

To get around we hired a scooter. Well priced and not too scary driving around as there isn't really that much traffic.

We are not party people, and so LOVED the pace of the Ao Nang region. If you want to party, go to Patong...you'll probably find this area boring. There are lots of beaches to explore and day trips to do. Highly recommend this hotel in a beautiful part of Thailand.

We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Get a pool side room. The garden rooms are very spacious, but dark and out of the way.

“Beautifull hotel in a perfect location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

The hotel looks beautiful, with an open lobby decorated with cheerful colors and a very nice pool area.
Rooms are large, clean and you have everything that you might need. The minibar prices are almost like at the markets, they offer 2 free bottles of water every day and they have happy hour at both bars.
The best thing about this hotel is the location. Across the road you have a beach where the boats are living to the wonderful beaches at 15 min. distance (we loved Phra Nang Beach and Po Da Island). Also the beach across the road is not so good for a day on the beach, you can take nice walks in the evening for watching the sunset and also offer a good view of the sea during your breakfast.
One bed thing about the hotel is the poor breakfast – doesn’t offer many choice and the only think that has taste is Thai food - but the cafe is good, they have fresh fruit juice and a wonderful view.
Another bed think is that is quite noissy - rooms doesnt have a good isolation - but since we walked around the area all they we were very tired so we slept ok.

“Great hotel, great location”

Pro's :

- Fast checking, welcome drink.
- Laid back boutique hotel with very nice design and furnishings.
- We stayed in familiy suite, great room with separate sitting area, private terrace, view into the jungle and mangrove behing the hotel.
- Perfect bathroom with separate rain shower and bathtub.
- Impeccable house-keeping.
- Reasonnable prices at the hotels bar, mini-bar and restaurant.
- Good breakfast.
- Location was very good.
- Staff usually nice and friendly.

Con's :

- We had one mix-up with reception when we wanted to extend our stay. Altough it was dealt with in the end, the staff and manager in charge at that time were less than friendly on this particular occasion and handled the matter rather poorly.

General :

Less than two hours by boat from the Phuket carnaval, we found Krabi province to be quiet, beautiful and enjoyable. Many day trips are available, to Phi Phi (Avoid, unless you like to see hundreds upon hundred of people on a 50 m long beach). Railey and small island excursions in longtail instead of speedboat were much more enjoyable. Party life is rather inexistant in Ao Nang tough, which is a much more family oriented city.

Salay Talay is a great base to explore this region.

“Excellent location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We stayed here for 7 nights in early January 2012. The best thing about this hotel is the location as it's on a fairly quiet road but within walking distance of many of the bars and restaurants in Ao Nang.

The design of the hotel is lovely as all of the rooms are set around the pool. The pool area is nice and there were always lots of beds available. It was pretty quiet during the day as most people head off to the beautiful beaches which are all just a short boat ride away.

You can catch a longtail boat to Railay, Phra Nang and Tonsai beach right outside the hotel, however, you have to wait for 8 people to fill the boat before it will leave and as this is a quieter stretch of the beach, we had to wait for about half an hour a few times. The best thing to do is catch a taxi bike (cost about 60 pence) down to the main Ao Nang pier where it is a lot busier so you never have to wait for a boat.

The breakfast buffet was good but the range of food available was not as good as at the other 2 hotels we stayed at during the same trip.

The room was great. We stayed in a Deluxe room on the second floor. It's only worth paying extra for a pool access room if you are going to use it a lot and we were hardly there during the day.

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I would definitely stay here again.
