“What a marvellous introduction to Hunter Valley”

It was my partner's first time to Hunter, and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay and have the wine tour with! It was meant to be a Scoupon deal, but due to our tight schedules, we ended up having to change to a weekend instead. Ken and Collette made us feel at home the moment we rocked up their place and we couldn't be more pleased with the choice of wineries that he brought us around the next day! It was an extremely relaxing tour, allowing us to take our time with each winery, and was able to even provide some very good and spot on recommendations on what we just may like, something which is very handy when you get 'wined out' with all the tastings!

The room that we got was at the basement of the house. Having an air-con compensated for the lack of windows in the room, and it is a good size. It is clean, tidy and comfortable and we love the beans breakfast that Collette made! The spa out front made up for the lack of a bath tub in our room and it was very relaxing after a long day of tasting ;oP

There's a lot of thoughtful touches to make up for the lack of a view of the beautiful country side. Nice soft towels and bathrobes, complimentary soap, shampoo, conditioner, and shower cap. The location of the place is quite also accessible.

Overall, we just had a wonderful time, and thanks to the owners, a very memorable trip indeed.

From the moment we walked in we experienced such lovely hospitality, a genuine caring from the owners to ensure you had a nice stay in the Hunter region. We stayed there for 2 nights and despite the weather not being the best, thoroughly enjoyed the wine tour with Ken who was ever so knowledgeable, patient, and helpful throughout. Collette whipped up a lovely breakfast each morning and we would certainly recommend this place to others wishing to have a relaxing and enjoyable time with hosts willing to help out with information/suggestions on whichever interests you may have.

“Hospitality at it's best!”

We have just returned from Hunter Haven B&B today having spent two nights there. We were extremely impressed with the quality of service offered by our hosts, Ken and Collette. Nothing was too much trouble for either of them and they went out of their way to make our stay as memorable as possible -- allowing us to use their house phone to make an important overseas call, generously giving us a bottle of bubbly as they found out it was our wedding aniversary and even driving us to a local restaurant at no extra charge.

The rooms are very comfortable and clean with ceiling fans and air-conditioning and the fully cooked breakfast was delicious. Ken is a wonderful tour guide who kindly took us around to some of the local vineyards and places of interest. We were made to feel like family which is something you don't experience very often.

We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone wishing to stay in a "home away from home".

We have just gotten back from our 2 nights and cannot wait to return

Ken and Collette were wonderful host who welcome you to hunter haven like you were family. Collette is a wonderful cook and Ken is always willing to help by driving us to concerts / dinners and even taking us all on the most informative / fantastic wine tour.

We will defiantly be returning soon for your host a murder mystery night.

“Our trip to the Hunter Haven to see Dolly Pardon in concert.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

Dear Ken and Colette,

Thank you for accommodating us and our friends Les & Maureen over the weekend. You always go the xtra mile for us and we appreciate your kindness very much.

Ours rooms were very well presented and homely.

We also enjoyed the comfort of the lounge room area, where we could sit and relax and get a massage too, Im going to have to buy the massage cushions they're a great idea.

We also enjoyed our beautiful breakfasts out on the veranda the food was scrumptious.

Thank you Ken for the complimentary bus ride to and from the hope estate, i don't think taking our vehicles is a good idea as we witnessed how difficult it can be getting in and out of the hope estate.

Finally, we not only managed to see Dolly in concert but prior to that you squeezed us in for a wine tour...which made our weekend complete. Awesome.

We look forward to seeing you both again in December.

Kind Regards,

Sheree & Heta
