We had such a wonderful time at Bimini Sands! The condo we stayed in was beautiful, clean, and just steps away from the beach. All of the staff at Bimini Sands were helpful and friendly no matter where we were - at the restaurant (be sure to order the french toast for breakfast!), the gift shop, or the recreation and activities department. We spent our days out and about (kayaking, snorkeling, swimming with sharks) and then our evenings around the resort. It was the perfect vacation, relaxing and adventurous. I would go back to Bimini - and stay at Bimini Sands - in a heartbeat!

Nobody told us that there are two Bimini Islands (the North Island and South Island) - We stayed on the South Island. If peace and quiet is what you seek - make sure to stay here. It is the only hotel on the island - along with one bar and one restaurant. The North island is where all the activity is - bars, restaurants, tons of people, and activities. The islands are very close - only a 5 min ferry ride away. We actually enjoyed having the entire island to ourselves! We were there during the off season, so the South Island was desolate. We went deep sea fishing, bone fishing, snorkeling (the water is magnificant) and kayaking. If we go back we're going to stay at the Big Game Hotel on the North Island - it was definitely seemed the best over there.

On thing to be prepared for is the golf cart rental fee - $70-80 a day! They gotcha! Also, there's no place to buy food - so bring snacks and necessities. The store on the SI was smaller than most gas stations.

One more thing - the event coordinators at the Bimini Sands - Katie and Grant are awesome!

We went with another family and booked two rooms next to each other for 4 nights. We made the reservation over the phone. On the 4th day, our key (credit card) did not work for our room. Went to the front office and they did not have us down for 4 nights. They double booked both of our rooms for the fourth night. We had to pack up and move. We wasted a couple hours of our vacation getting this straightened out and moving. The staff was unapologetic. They offered us nothing in return for this huge inconvenience. No discount and no apologies. In fact they blamed us for it!

We've been to the Bahamas many times and by far, Bimini Sands is the cleanest and well-maintained resort. The restaurant is above average but not excellent. If you have a boat, you can rent a condo on the Marina side. We rented the 1 bedroom with the loft. We didn't lose power (a common occurence in the Bahamas) and the A/C kept the room cold! The linens were crisp and clean. The staff is friendly. The kitchen is well-equipped with a frig, microwave, stove and coffee-maker. Our condo had a tv but no satellite or cable service. I'm sure some of the other condos do so if you would like that, you need to request it when booking your reservation. It is absolutely gorgeous at Bimini Sands and the view is breathtaking. We've only stayed there in one-night increments, usually on our way to the out islands. But we are seriously reconsidering spending a week at Bimini Sands because of its location, cleanliness and organization. Hope this helps!
