“Good Value for your money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2010

Pro's: Great breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet's - all inclusive, excellent food at the fine dining area which is also included. Try Yellowfin tuna and fetuccini with scallops. The conch fritter werent the greatest but everything else was good. Bar food also good. Friendly staff. 5 mninute walk to Atlantis and Cabbage Beach. Shopping 2 to 3 minute walk. Tennis courts, and free snorkeling gear provided. Entertainment in lobby every evening.

Con's: hotel needs better upkeeping, Rooms could use coat of paint and newer beddings and decorations. Bathroom could also definitely use updating. Beach area in front of hotel could use some cleaning and debris removal. Pool was a funny green color, they got blue by the time I left. Music choice was terrible, lots of rap music. Not appropriate for the dining areas.

DO NOT BUY ANY MAJESTIC TOURS - That was a scam - However the hotel refunded us our money.

“Don't always believe what you read.”

First of all we just arrived back from the bahamas yesterday and truly this hotel is not as bad as others are writing. My husband and I have truly stayed at dumps and 5 star hotels. I read all of the reviews after our travel agent booked this trip for us. My husband and I got very nervous after reading all of the reviews, in-fact I even called there a few days before to see if it would be possible to switch rooms if they did in-fact smell. This is one of the oldest hotels on Paradise Island. The rooms were clean we stayed in 1016 a balcony room overlooking the harbor and pool it was beautiful. Yes the pool was a little dirty, but I did see them trying to clean it out every morning. When we did arrive we noticed a bunch of kids from (grad week) drunk and loud out of their minds. What I would do in the future is call ahead to see if they have any teenager week going on. Otherwise 2 days later they all left and everything was perfect.
The food in the buffet and grill was excellent. The harbor inn which was sopposed to be a upscale version restaraunt was to our suprise not so great. I ordered the coffee crusted sirlion steak and it was such a bad piece of meat. It could of been just one bad night, but we didn't go back.
The drinks were terrific. My husband being a beer drinker became addicted to all of the various types of rum cocktails which were delicious.
We did 2 excursions blackbeard's cay which you swim with sting rays, which was excellent and the other was sailing (BAREFOOT SAILING) WHICH I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. The owners, father and son which were totally rude. Please do not waste your money on this excursion there are plenty of sailing excursions to do. In-fact the lady at the hotel knew of this negative behavior with these owners but couldn't tell us.
I want to send a special thank you out to Sarah who was truly helpful and very kind throughout are stay.
BTW: The people in the bahamas were so incredibly kind and curtious it was very difficult to come back home.

“Spend the extra money elsewhere”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 June 2010

The only people who should go here is highschool graduates wanted cheap booze and a place to party. The food was terrible and there was feces in the pool! Hotel had booked up as a graduation 2010 party and didn't tell regular guest! You couldn't get any service at the grill or bar because of all of the drunk 18-year-olds. Staff could care less and front desk clerk had a hole in her shirt, great impression! All-inclusive meals and alcohol cost more in long run because had to buy food and drinks elsewhere! Beach view is of shipping port, not actual beach. Dirty pool and dirty ocean water. Saw ships emptying sewage right next to harbor resort's beach! Mold in tiny showers and rusty leaky faucets.

“Amazing Time, Great Value!”

We were a little worried after reading the reviews for the hotel, but were very pleasantly suprised when we got there. The staff was very polite and helpful, and the room was neat and clean (it did not smell like mold at all). The pool area was very nice, although the lagoon area could use some fixing up and the hotel room walls are a little thin. During several evenings the lobby would put on neat little shows to watch that were alot of fun. All the food was very good in both the buffet and the pool bar, and the drinks were great. Overall, if your expecting Atlantis than don't stay here but we both thought it was a great deal for the price we paid- clean, good food, friendly staff, had an amazing time and definently planning on coming back with friends next year!

“Don't Do It!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 May 2010

Dump does not even begin to describe this place. Upon entering the lobby it is immediately obvious that this is not a four-star resort. There were un-painted drywall patches in the lobby and a band playing in the “lobby bar” so loudly that we could not hear the front desk clerk speaking to us as she was checking us into our rooms. Please note, the “lobby bar” was in fact a bar front in the lobby of the hotel, it was not a discreetly positioned bar in, or a separate room off the lobby. The whole place was just unseemly.

The elevators were old and in disrepair, they would stop on random floors regardless of the selected destination. As you walk off of the elevator you are greeted with more un-painted drywall patching, a flimsy coffee table displaying an extremely tacky flower arrangement with several water glass stains in the wood. This was nothing compared to the mold and vandalism found in the ceiling tiles.

The walls were so thin that we could hear our neighbor’s conversations. The water to the entire facility went out one evening around the time we were showering and getting ready to go to dinner. When it finally came back on it was brown and non-potable. This brown water was consistent from that day forward so we purchased bottled water to use for brushing our teeth. During one afternoon I watched a drug deal go down on the property. I am not sure who was on the resort staff and who was a local visitor on that one, but it was unsettling to say the least. The most unseemly experience was when one of the hotel staff called my brother into the kitchen and told one of the kitchen workers to perform sexual acts for him.
