My friend and I spent 2 nights at this resort. They were the longest 2 nights of my life! After a long day of travelling we arrived at this hotel and was told that my reservation had been cancelled! I'm a travel agent and I knew I hadn't cancelled my reservation! It took a phone call to the destination help center, and it was taken care of. Our luggage had been delayed in Atlanta and we expected it to arrive about 9:00 that evening. We were assigned a smoking room which was totally disgusting! As a smoker I thought the smell in the room was horrible! Windows didn't open to air the room out so that didn't help! The phone rang about 10pm to let me know our luggage had arrived. When I picked up the reciever...it was dead! So I went down to the front desk to bring up the luggage! I notified them that the phone did work, and no one bothered with it, until I contacted a manager the next day to let him know about all the other things......the bathroom sink drain was broken. The bathtub faucet nearly came out when I tried to pull the knob up for a shower. When walking from the bathroom to the bedroom, my feet were black! The floors were awful! There was dirt piled up in the corners of the bathroom as though it were swept there to avoid having to sweep it up. 90% of the pool chairs were broken (which I came to realize was why no one was at the pool!)
There is no beach to speak of. It's a man made beach with a view of a rickety old bridge that circles the "man made beach". Not appealing to the eye if you're looking for a view.
The food in the specialty restraunt was very good, but the buffet didn't have much variety and the food was always cold. The Wahoo Bar and grill had good food. Better than the buffet. At least it was fresh and hot. At one point we were offered a different room, but decided....whats the point? We were leaving the next day, anyway. The following day we took a taxi to the RIU Palace. 150% better! Take my word for it; If you're looking for an all inclusive on Paradise Island....spend the extra money and stay at the RIU. But avoid the Harbour Resort.
