“Never again!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2010

My friend and I spent 2 nights at this resort. They were the longest 2 nights of my life! After a long day of travelling we arrived at this hotel and was told that my reservation had been cancelled! I'm a travel agent and I knew I hadn't cancelled my reservation! It took a phone call to the destination help center, and it was taken care of. Our luggage had been delayed in Atlanta and we expected it to arrive about 9:00 that evening. We were assigned a smoking room which was totally disgusting! As a smoker I thought the smell in the room was horrible! Windows didn't open to air the room out so that didn't help! The phone rang about 10pm to let me know our luggage had arrived. When I picked up the reciever...it was dead! So I went down to the front desk to bring up the luggage! I notified them that the phone did work, and no one bothered with it, until I contacted a manager the next day to let him know about all the other things......the bathroom sink drain was broken. The bathtub faucet nearly came out when I tried to pull the knob up for a shower. When walking from the bathroom to the bedroom, my feet were black! The floors were awful! There was dirt piled up in the corners of the bathroom as though it were swept there to avoid having to sweep it up. 90% of the pool chairs were broken (which I came to realize was why no one was at the pool!)
There is no beach to speak of. It's a man made beach with a view of a rickety old bridge that circles the "man made beach". Not appealing to the eye if you're looking for a view.
The food in the specialty restraunt was very good, but the buffet didn't have much variety and the food was always cold. The Wahoo Bar and grill had good food. Better than the buffet. At least it was fresh and hot. At one point we were offered a different room, but decided....whats the point? We were leaving the next day, anyway. The following day we took a taxi to the RIU Palace. 150% better! Take my word for it; If you're looking for an all inclusive on Paradise Island....spend the extra money and stay at the RIU. But avoid the Harbour Resort.

“Good value for your money”

If you want extra money to spend on excursions and not too picky on hotel rooms then stay here. Good all inclusive hotel with great breakfast buffet and decent lunch and dinner buffets depending on the day. Oldest hotel in Paradise island but good location to explore the island with most attractions within walking distance.

Stayed in rm 611. Great corner room with a balcony and near the elevator. Hotel staff are very friendly to compensate for the hotel need for serious refurbishing.

“Fabulous vacation...best one ever!”

This all inclusive resort was GREAT! The food was good, the staff was friendly, we had a great time! We traveled there with our four children ages 1-9. The pool at the resort was totally kid friendly. It went from 1 foot (the one year old could stand in it!) to five feet with a fun waterfall and beautiful ambience. There was also a great private "lagoon" that was perfect for the family! It never got too deep for the kids, but deep enough to swim in and the hotel had snorkel equipment that we could use (for free!) and the kids saw some great fish! The other great thing about the lagoon was that the waves weren't too strong or overwhelming for the kids. The sand was great for building sand castles! The food was great! There was a buffet 3x a day (included in the price of the hotel). Each day had a wide variety of food, we could almost always find something everyone liked. On the off day that we couldn't please the kids at the buffet, we just went out to the bar and grill (also included in the price of the hotel) and ordered hot dogs, hamburgers, or chicken sandwiches. The hotel had lots of activities. They had a conch salad demonstration that was really interesting, we played bingo by the pool, they had latin dancing lessons etc. It was fun! We also really enjoyed the floor shows...one was native and one was "oldies". They had karaoke and live bands...it was a fun place. The kids really enjoyed the kids club where you could drop off the kids while you did your own thing. The kids- made jewelery, painted pictures, played in the pool, had storytime and really enjoyed the staff in the kids club (especially Laurieann and Charmaine). The rooms were adequate, they were comfortable and weren't too noisy at night, but there were so many other things to do that we didn't really spend much time in the room, other than to crash at night! The room floors were tile, which I thought was brilliant because we never worried about wet swimsuits, wet watershoes, or bringing too much sand into the room! The staff was very friendly and accomodating. They really went out of their way to help you. One evening it was raining and we didn't want to take the kids out in the rain, so we went downstairs to buy some cards to play a card game, but the gift shop was closed. The front desk located and loaned us some cards to use. The hotel is also within walking distance (10 minutes or less) of a water taxi to Nassau and the straw market, Cabbage Beach (which had bigger waves than the lagoon at the hotel!), the Marketplace outside of Atlantis, Atlantis, and the Gardens of Versaille. We would HIGHLY recommend this resort! Everyone in our family had a wonderful time! Well done!

“DON"T STAY HERE.....IT IS A DUMP!!!!!!!!”

We booked this hotel through Apple Vacations. Apple Vacations rated this motel a 4 1/2 apple. We checked in and the room wasn't ready yet so we used the fitness center. The fitness center smelled like urine, there was a huge stain in the middle of the floor and the bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned. We hoped our room would be better. We went to the bar because it was the only place open to eat. The food was unedible, the drinks were awful. We were finally able to check in. The first room they gave us was occupied, they second room was filthy and the third was no better(we showered with our flip flops on). We stayed one night and checked out. We are waiting to see if we will get a refund. This hotel should be referred to as a motel at best.

“Very affordable, nice hotel... would stay again!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2010

This hotel gets a bad rap! Let me please stress this... this is not the Atlantis! It is a very nice, clean, affordable hotel if you are looking to save some money. Please read the reviews or contact the hotel directly with any questions, so you are not surprised by anything when you get there. For example, the hotel is NOT on the ocean. It is on the bay... the marina... this is why it is cheaper. It is a smaller hotel with a great staff who really try their best to make everyone happy. I traveled with 4 of my girlfriends and here is what we thought: The room was fine, probably needed to be updated, but it was clean and did not smell. If we needed something, housekeeping was there in a flash and happy to do it. The buffet was just "ok"... I think breakfast was the better meal of the three. We ate lunch at the outside bar alot. The cheese fries were good! But don't expect food like you get here in the states.... it's the Bahamas and they put their own twist on their food. For dinner, we ate twice in the nicer restaurant (there are only two there) and it was awesome!! Great service and great food! The drinks are just "ok" but I expected that for the all inclusive. We did smell that "bay" smell once in a while, but it wasn't overwhelming and nothing to complain about. Cabbage Beach, which is across the street, is beautiful! Definitely go there! It's about a 5 minute walk.. and it's a nice walk on sidewalks. We also liked the fact that this hotel was in walking distance of a small shopping center and also the marina where we caught the ferry to Nassau. The pool is huge and very clean. All in all, we had been meaning to do an "all girls" trip for a while and never could afford it. This hotel was very affordable and we had a great time. I would stay here again!
