“Good for the price”

The location is close to Bay St. shopping downtown, Junkanoo beach, and Senor Frogs, but not much else. Make sure not to go any further inland in the downtown area, because it is very sketchy area. We were told three times it wasn't safe when trying to find a grocery store a couple of blocks further inland. The lobby area is nice and there are a couple of computers for free internet. The courtyard is pretty and the rooms are not bad for the price. We booked through hostels.com so we had 2 beds to push together, which was annoying. The air conditioning was really loud and the fan looked like it was about to fall off. No fridge in the room. The breakfast was gross (days old meat and boiled eggs...). The staff isn't very friendly, and the kitchen closes whenever it feels like basically. There was also a lady screaming on the phone in Spanish in the courtyard all day and night. Overall, not bad for the price but only good to stay for a few days.

“Boutique Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

If your expecting 5 stars forget it, stay in cable beach or go across the bridge to paradise island. On the the other hand if you're like me and just looking a cheap affordable, clean place to stay downtown then this is your best bet. we really only slept there because a vacation should be more than staying in an hotel but more about exploring the destination. Service was warm and friendly however be sure to have your booking date set and followed up on as we discovered your deposit is DEAD if your a no show, we had booked the wrong date, don't expect anyone to call you to find out if your showing or not. However if you alert them that your date is wrong before the date the deposit can be move BUT YOU HAVE TO TELL THEM BEFORE. we lost our deposit but we still decided to go none the less because after scoping around Nassau the price was basically unbeatable. The restrooms have a vintage look don't expect marble, and give the hot water some time to warm up. rooms are cleaned properly each day and a standard room has enough space for two guest complete with mini fridge, Vintage A/C NO REMOTE, and ceiling fan. we visited during November it was really cold so we didn't use the A/C. They also offer free local calls from your room so you can call around Nassau with out running up your bill. Sleep quality is average not spectacular, no iron or ironing board in rooms, The pool works but is rather small, and mostly filled with leaves due to its location. The hotel offers free breakfast but, it wasn't great at all we only had the boiled eggs the first morning, but not to worry Dunkin Donuts is just around the corner they will save the morning. The greatest value about this hotel is its location and price $95 was our rate, a quiet neighbor hood, but smack right in the middle of everything. Close to restaurants, public transportation and even some attractions, Columbus statue is just a top the road from the hotel, while the straw market is down the road. There is also free WiFi access from the lobby and two computers to use for free if you don't have your own WiFi device. would recommend this hotel for persons on a budget or adventurous. Put it this way we chose this hotel due to its location and price therefore the less we spent on a hotel the more we had to enjoy Nassau. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Second Floor rooms are probably best, as the hotel as no elevator, ground floor has lots of traffic...

“Multiple problem areas”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

Cubana airline put us up here overnight after we had been bumped from our flight and lost our room at the Wyndham Resort. The hotel is in a nice downtown location but the drive to the airport took 30-45 minutes. Our room had two queen beds with about a foot between them and about six-eight inches on the other side of each bed. Unfortunately, for the bed farthest from the entry that eight inches is the pathway to the bathroom and closet--a very tight fit and difficult to maneuver in the dark. The air conditioning was the loudest I have ever heard but it did cool the room. The bathroom was small and there was no place to put any toilet items. Going back and forth to the bedroom and squeezing through the tiny pathway was a pain. My primary complaint, however, was that the bathroom had been only superficially cleaned or not cleaned at all. There were several partially used bars of soap with hair in the bathtub and the toilet had evidence of someone having perhaps had diarrhea. The bathroom problems were discovered after we had prepared for bed and we just lived with them knowing we were leaving a few hours later. Perhaps the bathroom situation was an anomaly but the squeeze to get to the bathroom and the unbelievably loud AC is not. Staff were friendly.

“Great place for a good price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

We stayed for a week at this place located at downtown Nassau and enjoyed it a lot. Rooms are clean, the whole hotel has a nice old colonial style and a awesome, sometimes speaking parrot. Service was great at all times and we had some good drinks at the hotel bar. Absolutely recommendable if you are looking for a not so expensive stay at Nassau.
