This "resort" decided the perfect time to renovate the poolside seating area (roofing project no less) would be the week between Christmas and New Years... Beware of renting time shares, there is no recourse like a hotel. The management doesn't care about your stay because the weeks are all rented in perpetuity regardless of the quality of your visit. The owners of the weeks here should be furious. We rented a poolside unit directly from an owner and our rental agreement was not honored upon check in! We specifically chose a unit and we were not let in. Instead the management said it was "on them" and gave us the tired, smelly and used up unit next door. We'll never know if the unit we were supposed to have was better. Our unit was supposedly "renovated" but the tile was worn, the window treatment smelled and were ripped, the locks on the entry level doors were old and broken (we had to use a broom handle on one) and the SMELL of our couch made us all sick. When we checked out, another family was spending $4k to move to Atlantis for the rest of their week because the Blue Water was such a hole. My friend owns a week here, that's why we came. I"m sorry to say this place sucked. There is no stock response the onsite manager can post to change the fact that our family vacation was literally ruined by this place.

When we arrived, we were told our Ocean Front villa would be ready at 3:30. At 5:00 they tell us the unit we were assigned would not be ready until the next day because of renovations. We were then told another unit would be ready by 5:30. Unfortunately, this unit had renovations going on and there was no TV, no hot water, shower handle was not hooked up ...plus other issues. Told the next day we could move in to the unit we were to have for the rest of the week by 11:00am. Did not get in until 5:00. As it turns out all the six units on right side of the property were under renovations. We had to walk through piles of building supplies on side walk and listen to workers all day.

The property is and has been in need of renovations for several years. Unfortunately the renovations going on are very low quality. What a shame. This is a beautiful property in a great location. The staff is great. We have stayed here four years in a row. Even with all the renovation issues, we like this property. Just wish they could get there act together and bring the property up to normal standards.

Had a great time at The Blue Water Resort in Nassau. This was the first Caribbean vacation that we took as a family since the 2 kids were born, one 3 ½ and the other 18 months. Our 3 ½ year old has food allergies so we needed a unit that offered a nice kitchen for preparing ALL of our meals. Our unit was in great shape, had a great kitchen, dining room, living room area, 3 bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, large outdoor patio space and a short walk to the beach/pool area. This fit our needs perfectly. If you are looking for Atlantis, this likely is not for you - no glitz and glam. If you are looking for a small to medium sized family friendly resort in close proximity to grocery stores, shopping restaurants and down town Nassau then you may have found your resort.

I have been vacationing to the Bahamas for over 30 years so please trust me as this resort is not worth one minute of your precious vacation time. Vacations are supposed to be made up of happy memories not nightmares. So if you want to avoid the nightmares and have a great vacation avoid this resort. It use to be a nice place but has gone down hill steadily over the past four years.
