We stayed at Estate Lindholm in Feb. 2011, I am a bit late with this review. Everything was wonderful and beautiful grounds. We were picked up at the Ferry Dock by the owner which was very nice. The next morning we walked into town to get our rental jeep. Every evening we walked down the hill (a short walk) into Cruz Bay for dinner but, definitely took a taxi back up the hill. The views from Estate Lindholm were spectacular. Every day we went out in the jeep and explored the island and beach hopped. We stayed at Estate Lindholm based upon all the other reviews we saw on Trip Advisor. Also, this was a spur of the moment trip and the owners were very accomodating with our juggling our dates. This was our first time visiting St. John but, definitely won't be our last! We plan on returning next year!

We spent 10 days at the Estate Lindholm in January. It is truly a lovely place just as other trip reviewers have said. The room is not necessarily luxurious but based on what we saw on the island it is a great value: beautifully clean when you arrive and kept nicely throughout our stay--and as has been said before, the view from Lindholm cannot be beat. Our daily routine went something like this-- wake up for breakfast, select one of the many spectacular northshore beaches for the day (Honeymoon Beach which is a short walk/hike down a wooded path from the hotel is one of the best on the island!), pack a lunch using the mini fridge and other accommodations in the room, and head out for a perfect St. John Day. Around 4:30, we'd return to have a drink on either deck or poolside to watch the incredible sunset from the best spot on St. John before heading to dinner in Cruz Bay (a short drive or extremely easily hailed taxi ride down the hill-- the walk is short, but I feared meeting a drunk driver on the shoulderless road after dark). If you want VACATION-- this is it.

The only complaint we had-- just to echo other travelers-- is the breakfast. On this site and on their own website, the Estate Lindholm refers to itself as a B&B. The breakfast is not that of a similarly price B&B on the mainland-- whether this is because of the prices of island life or simple oversight on the part of the owners, I don't know, but it should be said it is basic and in many ways speaks of a lack of effort-- same EXACT fare for 10 days. we certainly weren't looking for a heavy diner breakfast, but a variety of pastries/breads or oatmeal in a crock pot or some yogurt and granola would have been very appreciated. In all other ways, from picking us up at the ferry, to the gardening, to room cleaning, and general travel advice and assistance, the service is outstanding, so in a way the lackluster breakfast stood out.

That said-- would we happily stay here again? absolutely. We hope to be back next year!

We appreciate the beauty and convenience of Estate Lindholm more each time we go - we have stayed there six time in the past four years. We have found the location to be perfect, the accommodations clean and comfortable, the grounds beautiful - from the flowers to the hummingbirds to the sound of the frogs at night. Lauren and Brion, along with Christie and the rest of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Long-time St. John residents, they can provide suggestions for what do to, where to go and how to get anywhere in the island. It is a credit to them that most of the guests we encounter are also repeat visitors.

St. John has beaches that are the most beautiful we have found in the Caribbean, with excellent snorkeling. Hiking trails provide another activity and scenic views. Cruz Bay and Coral Bay both have many restaurants that offer food for any palette.

If you are an active person seeking a laid back vacation, Estate LIndholm is an ideal choice. We will definitely return.

We stayed at Estate Lindholm after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and we definitely made the right choice! This was our first visit to St. John and will absolutely not be our last. Everything about Estate Lindholm is wonderful.. from the complimentary beach towels and chairs to the breakfast. Thank you, Lauren and family for a wonderful stay.
