“AWESOME”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2010

The hospitality was great, the villa is located in a very peacefull environment, but yet it is very close to downtown POS and also very close to the beaches. I am orginally from Trinidad and have been living in Canada for the last 22 years. First time my husband and teenage kids have been to Trinidad. I want to thank Joe and his wonderfull wife Grace for treating us like family and sharing their villa with us. It was a wonderful experience. i was longing to eat coconut bake and saltfish buljol, and lol and behold, the next morning thats what they serve for breakfast. i was also blown away when Joe picked a few coconuts from the property and had a mug of coconut water there for us when we came down for breakfast.. Joe, i commend you for that. Grace, it is 4:02 in the morning and i am typing this review, and i am remembering that day you were cooking the pelau. hhmmmm does it smell good. You guys are awesome. luv ya

“Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2010

We visited Trinidad in January '08 for 3 weeks. I found Crosswinds after trawling through pages and pages on the internet reading reviews on the many B&B's on the island. I was nervous about making the booking as it would have been on my shoulders if the place would have not lived up to the descriptions and reviews i had read on it.
My fears were totally dispelled when we arrived on the island and was greeted by "Big" Joe Lendor and Joe-Joe our driver. We felt in safe hands immediately. We were driven to Crosswinds, the place was magnificent !!. It is set in a lovely safe neighbourhood with views over the lush Trinidadian mountains and countryside. The villa is also immaculately clean and the food was plentiful (and delicious) Joe and Grace are beautiful people and we were looked after 100% of our stay with them....Joe would often take us to the local store to top up our fridge with ice cold beer :) ....and then play his pan for us in the warm evenings by the pool.
Joe-Joe was our driver (tour guide) for the whole of our stay and he made our time on the island the most perfect and safe time we could of wished for. We met as strangers, but by the time we left it felt like we were having to say goodbye to a lifelong friend.
I have yearned to go back to Crosswinds since we left and are planning to go back again for June/July of this year.

“absolutly wonderful”

Me and my husband stayed at Crosswinds Villa for 6 nights and we had a great honeymoon. Joe and Grace Lendor were very nice and made you feel welcomed. We started each day with a delicious breakfast and Grace even made seperate food for my husband as he is a vegetarian. There great and knowledgeable driver Joe drove us anywhere we wanted to go around trinidad. The kingsize superior room that we stayed in was very spacious and was very clean. We felt at home and loved the spectacular views of the mountains around the property. Where the property is located is great as your in a quite and safe area but within 20 minutes drive of Port of Spain and Maracus bay beach. We had a very relaxing and stress-free honeymoon and definitely will be back to stay at Crosswinds on our next trip to Trinidad.

“Looking Forward to going back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2009

My bestfriend in CA and I, who live in NC,decided to go to Trinidad for a weekend just because. The reservation process was painless as Deborah is a true professional. Her correspondence was less than 24 hours. We had never been to Trinidad and after I read reviews and checked pricing at the more well known hotels in Port of Spain chosing Crosswinds just made more sense. Upon arrival the pictures I saw of Crosswinds on line did not do it justice. It is beautiful, serene, peaceful and it felt like home. The full breakfast varied and was delicious as was the dinner. Mr. Joe and Mrs. Grace are absolutely the best. They are so accomdating and they always have a smile on their face as well as the rest of the staff. Joe our driver for the entire stay was so gracious. I hated to leave. I can not imagine staying anyplace else when I go back this year or any other time I return to Trinidad.

“Last Minute”

My husband and I booked a stay at Crosswinds at the last minute because originally we had planned to stay at the hyatt hotel but they were not taking reservations until 12/20, and the hilton wasnt taking reservations for the time period that we were going to be there. I am a Catering Director for a very well known 5 star hotel in New York City so staying at the crosswinds was something different for me. When we arrived we got a very warm welcome from Joe and Grace the room was very very clean as well as the bathroom, the furniture was fine aswell not old and not new. me and my husband wanted to get away before the holidays since we both work so much it was supposed to be kinda like a romantic getaway and just something for both of us to relax and spend some time with each other. I had only a few problems the 1st one is my room that we stayed in they were building or fixing something right outside of my window I believe it was the next house and the noise was horrendous everyday their was just a drilling sound constantly. 2ndly I did not like the fact that I didnt have daily cleaning services Im used to having my sheets atleast changed daily or every other day we had to ask for new sheets. and lastly, the bathroom it was beautiful but the water from the shower poured out so slow it was frustrating sometimes. Overall I must say that the lenders house was very beautiful, very clean, and the area is very safe, thats something we were definetly looking for. Joe and Grace treated us like extended family especially Joe he really inspired Me and my husband. If I were to recommend Crosswinds villa to anyone I would definetly do so because at the beginning I must say that I was very scared because I booked it online and read all the reviews, seen all the pictures but I was still nervous, The outcome was just terrific and I will definetly stay there again.
