“Excellence in Motion Every Step of the Way!”

As we made the 3 hour drive from Port of Spain to Toco, we kept wondering why Kristal, the Owner of Anise kept calling us to see where we were. We thought it was to ensure that we didn't get lost! Upon arrival, we realised that it was part of a well orchestrated plan. As we drove up the short hill, staff was on hand to meet the car, usher us to our parking and assist us with our luggage. We were then greeted with a welcome fruit drink garnished with sugar cane, followed by a cool towel in a lounge area that flows into the outdoor jacuzzi and pool.

It was exactly at that point that we almost forgot that we had gone there to work!!

Our stay at Anise was remarkable. The resort is relatively new, well manicured and has an infinity pool with spectacular views of the ocean. (Warning the sea is on the Atlantic Coast so it was too rough for bathing but the view was breathtaking). Kristal the Owner-Manager is warm and accommodating yet extremely professional. It is hard to find fault with Anise. It appears as if every aspect of service quality has been carefully thought out. But perhaps the most amazing part of our experience was the food!!!! The food was just too delicious to do justice through description!

We used Anise for our Company's planning retreat and we had absolutely no regrets! Congrats to the staff. Please keep this standard up over the years to come!

“Trinidad's Best Kept Secret”

We chose here for our anniversary.
It was only for one night, but that one night was wonderful.
On arrival, check in was speedy, and staff was very courteous. We were treated to a non alcoholic welcome drink and a cool towel. We were given a quick tour of the compound and then taken up to our room.
We stayed in the Lavender suite which is one of the two rooms with a King size bed. It also had a private porch with an ocean view. The room was nothing short of luxurious. Very cozy and comfortable. It came with all the standard amenities: shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand soap. You are also provided with towels for the room and towels for the pool/beach.
The compound is small, but charming. The pool is beautiful. The deepest part is just over five feet, making it very relaxing. It's very clean and inviting. There is also a Jacuzzi.
There is the beach across the street that seemed to be quite popular with the locals, however we did not venture there, as Toco is know for alot of undertows in the waters. Plus our stay being so short, we really didn't want to leave the resort for a minute.
The rate we paid included 3 meals and an afternoon snacks, and non alcoholic beverages with your meals. Alcoholic drinks were at an additional cost.
The food was excellent! Very tasty and dinner especially was of gourmet type. You are provided with generous servings. Be sure at time of reservations to inform the staff of any dietary restrictions or allergies as they would cater to your special needs.
A nice touch was cooking our shrimp on some hot stones for our 2nd course at dinner.
The bar is located next to the pool. You can order drinks and have them served to you by the pool. The bar tender can mix just about anything requested. You can also order drinks from the bar with your meals.
The decor in all of the resort is very impressive and elegant.
All of the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
We cannot fault this place. It's perfect for a romantic getaway or a relaxing vacation.
This resort is ideal for adults and kids, however, there is not much beyond the pool for kids to do.
This resort is located approximately 2 and a half hours from the airport. We would not recommend here for visitors who wish to tour the island.
Anise has definitely become one of our favorite places for a weekend getaway!

Room Tip: Best room for romance is the lavender suite

A superbly appointed resort in every detail of facility and decoration. Offering first class dining, individual attention, sprinkled with novel touches like welcome drinks with a refreshing chilled face wipe, sweeties on your pillows after turning down the sheets! Also excellent spa - on service and cost. All staff appropriately friendly and helpful. Special acclaim for the managers Krista and Shervin. Particularly suited for couples.

“Super relaxing”

We went here with a group of close friends to celebrate a birthday in March. I think we all fell in love with the place. It's a tiny place so you're not bombarded by a bunch of people which is nice if you're already with a medium sized group.

The rooms are well furnished and clean. The food is served in a timely manner and tastes yummy. The pool/jaccuzi area overlooks the sea which is gorgeous.

Overall the service was great. I'm from Trinidad and it was great to get away from the city and I've never felt as relaxed anywhere else in Trinidad as I have at this resort. We will certainly be repeat customers!

“Excellent Service”

I am an American expatriate living in T&T with my family. Usually we would go to Tobago for a get-away from Port of Spain. We decided to try Anise when we went to see the leather back turtles. Our stay at Anise was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxing, the food was near perfect, the SPA was superb. What was most special though was the consistently high quality service from the owners and all staff. Without question, this is the best service we have experienced at a hotel in T&T. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway and you are prepared to patiently navigate winding scenic roads (approx. 2.5 hours from Port of Spain) then Anise is well worth the trip. I wouldn't recommend going for the beach. It is scenic but not ideal for swimming because of currents.
