We just returned from the most outstanding beachfront villa in Bequia,
a beautiful island off of St. Vincent, and the first of the Grenadines.
We traveled with four couples, and it was I that found Bequia Beach-
front Villas without knowing too much about Bequia. I did notice that
it was a Fort Recovery Resort, and that is what sold me. We have stayed
there many times in Tortola, and it was absolutly the "best." So I thought
I couldn't go too wrong. Well I expected it to be nice, but never dreamed
that it would be that impressive. It is directly on a 1 mile beautiful sandy
beach and coupled with the most fantastic view imaginable it was sheer
heaven. However, the house is impeccable. You enter a 40 ft. long
hallway (a true art gallery) which went into a huge living-room kithen
dining area and library. It is truly movie material. It opens up to
a spacious louging-eating deck looking out to the beach and gives
you a real feeling as if you are in the water. The kitchen incidently is
the absolute "end". Who would expect to find a very large custom built
kitchen (stainless steel equipment), a very fine huge dining table (also
custom built and the finest of furniture. The bedrooms are also "to die
for." They are huge, with french doors leading to individual very large
decks. They are furnished with the greatest of taste. I noted
the Ralph Lauren beddings, the bamboo tables, and some bedroom had
high beamed bamboo ceilings. You can not imagine how luxurious the
place is. I looked at the other villas (the one bedroom, and the two
bedroom) and they also are extremely large and beautifully furnished.
We also visited other hotel and villas' on Bequia, but none could compare
with this setting. Our holiday was more than we even dreamed of.
