Stayed for a week, Jan. of 2008. There are quite a few drawbacks to this property, but it is a 2 1/2 to 3 star resort, so you can't expect a lot, and you're not paying for a lot.
The good: Small resort, so there's a much homier, friendlier atmosphere than the large places, and you're close to everything they have to offer. Not a lot of walking. Service is pretty good if you have maintenance issues, again due to the small size I think. Drinks are good, and the staff were very friendly when we were there. Entertainment was average for AI resorts. The guests seem to mingle more than at the bigger resorts because of the homey atmosphere. The pool looked OK, although small, but we never go in the pools, we're beach people. Probably the best thing, you're in Jamiaca and not paying a fortune to be there.
The bad: The place seems to be pretty old, and the room we had was pretty shabby. It was generally clean, but had some kind of mushroom like mold growing on the bathroom ceiling, and we had water pressure problems. They did fix that pretty quickly when asked. The food is pretty limited and not great. I'm not a picky eater and was OK with it, but my wife, who is not that picky either, didn't like most of what they served, and there are not a lot of choices. The beach is pretty small, the sand is rough, and there are a lot of rocks in the water, so the swimming is pretty poor. That was a drag for us, because we really like to spend our time at the beach.
All in all, we had a decent time there, since the resort wasn't so nice, we spent a lot of time away from it seeing the Jamaican sights, which was not a bad thing.
We wouldn't go back to this resort unless we were really on a tight budget again, since then we spend a liitle more to stay at nicer places.
