“A new type of travel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2011

I've traveled many placed within the Caribbean staying at larger resorts right on the beach, but none of those would compare to the fabulous experience I had here. I spent ten days at tiamo with family. If you're looking for a place to lounge in the sun all day, relax, go to the beach, and drink all day you can. If you're looking for a more cultural experience you can do that as well. Its the perfect mix of traveling.
The grounds themselves were amazing. Around every corner there was a new type of flower or wildlife. Not to mention the villa I stayed in looked off the edge into the ocean and the blue lagoon. I spent countless mornings opening the french doors to this perfect site and just being in awe. The pool was clean as were all of the facilities. The room was cleaned daily with fresh sheets every day and beautiful flowers laid out. Regardless of the stories you hear about jamaica our flat screen t.v. had many channels from back home and lots of movies to choose from.
Angela, who runs the hotel, suits her name perfect. She is the kindest woman you will every meet (don't hesitate to sit down with her and talk).
David generally worked as waiting staff and did an excellent job. Everyone was very quick to meet your needs or to fix something to ensure you had the best experience.
This would be perfect for a wedding or a family get together. There are only 4 villas but lots of space for an event. As an example for a wedding: Cliffside ceremony, indoor reception, outdoor dancing and bar. Its perfect.
Though you are not directly on a beach Sansan beach is only a 5-8 minute walk away. Other beaches are easily accessible by cab.
Port Antonia is a 5-10 minute drive away and offers whatever you need :food, banks, markets, jewelry, etc. It is safe so please have no fear. If you request marsh as your taxi driver you can ask him to come with you while shopping to ensure you pay a fair jamaican price.
The blue lagoon is just down the hill and is gorgeous. You can get a dose of its beauty along with the mouth of the natural springs running down the mountain by doing a boat tour. I recommend taking Dee as your guide. He's fair, helpful, and overall a really nice guy.

The location, beauty, service and everything else was just splendid. I felt like a princess (not just another tourist along with countless others racing to get a chair by the pool, and huge lineups to get food).

“Amazing!”

My daughter and I just returned from an amazing holiday experience in Port Antonio, Jamaica. We stayed at the beautiful Tiamo Resort on Goblin Hill. I was not prepared for the abundance of tropical gardens - thick, dense green foilage, fragrant and colourful flowers between the coconut trees. Previous trips to Jamaica were relished but my experience here topped them all. It was not our typical crowded tourist resort. There were no lineups for meals. We had our own private dining room and impeccable service by David who always had a smile for us. We had the most incredible panoramic view of the ocean right in front of us! Our Villa was spacious with large windows and shutters to the side allowing a soft breeze and the sound of the tide coming in. There was air conditioning but we preferred the large fan above our bed and the tropical breeze while we slept. Our flat screen tv gave us many channels and feature movies. The place was cleaned daily and meticulously kept. Our bedding was also change daily with fresh flowers left for our enjoyment in several areas. Angela our Hostess checked in to make sure that our needs were met and everything was to our satisfaction. We felt very pampered and graciously/warmly received. We were even provided with fluffy whilte spa robes. Our meals in the designated dining room was made on request or offer, but otherwise we were free to explore and taste the local food. At no time did we ever feel pressured. Early morning was spent lounging on my king size bed with coffee in hand, watched the waves roll in. We could also lounge by the pool soaking up the sun or plan an excursion. There was a cell phone available to cvall our chosen driver Marsh to bring us anywhere we wanted to go. Whether it was the local market in town or the blue lagoon, they were all easily accessible. Our Hotel Manager was also very helpful and friendly. He made sure that everything was runninbg weel and that we had no concerns. A security person was on site. The resort was private and heavon on earth for the ten days that we stayed. A real Photographer's oasis.
I would highly recommend this place to a honeymoon couple, family or group of people wanting to enjoy time together. It is a unique experience. There are several villas available and the growns are great to explore. You can walk to the beach if you so desire.
We know that we will return to Tiamo.

Thank you for a very memorable vacation!!!!

“Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2009

I stayed at Tiamo for 7 wonderful days. The staff was very attentive, the grounds were beautiful and there are no words to describe the spa -- totally relaxing in the middle of paradise. Each morning I swam while looking at the ocean, we ate as a group overlooking the ocean every morning and evening, the chef prepared traditional dishes that were mouth-watering. I have never been any place and not had a least one complaint. I had no complaints at all about Tiamo, my stay was so wonderful that I cried upon departure!!!

“Private Getaway with Close Friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2007

About 1 yr ago I had the opportunity to go on a trip with 4 of my good friends to Tiamo Spa Villas for a weekend. Our experience was so amazing...a few months later we went right back.

We found out about Tiamo Spa Villas through word of mouth, so needless to say I was a bit skeptical in the beginning. We were picked up at the Kingston, Norman Manley Airport and off to an almost 2.5hr, scenic and adventurous drive to Portland (near city of Port Antonio), where Tiamo is located, tucked away in the lush, green hills. I was a little turned off when I first found out how far the distance of the property was from the airport, but it was so worth it. We were able to take some beautiful pictures on our drive and learn a few fun facts about the island.

When we arrived the sun was just beginning to set, but we were so amazed at the landscaping of the property. The villas were spread out nicely apart from each other and surrounded by beautiful tropical flowers and tall palm trees. The design of the villas had a Japanese architecture style to them. Our rooms were immaculate and our beds were garnished with tropical flowers. This was the beginning of a great weekend. The food was amazing! The chef had a way of creating these amazing modern-looking dishes, without losing the flavor and Jamaican authenticity of the recipes. We had everything from Jamaican style breakfast (ackee & saltfish with fried dumplings and calaloo) to fresh caught lobsters, grilled to perfection. Even the fruit (mango and papaya) were picked from the trees of the property.

During the day we were able to catch a motor boat at the bottom of the hill of Tiamo and our local tour guides took us to San San beach, Blue Lagoon and Monkey Island. We had so much fun snorkeling and sunbathing. In between stops our guides would go back and get us a few Red Stripe beers to quench our thirst. We truly felt like we were treated as VIP’s on our vacation at Tiamo.

When we weren’t out and about, we spent our time relaxing by the pool, which had an amazing view overlooking the Blue Lagoon, or we gathered in our rooms and watched movies. The staff at Tiamo were so friendly and attentive. Our bartender/waiter, Tim really made us feel like we were at home. We almost felt as if we had the property all to ourselves. There were only 2 other guests staying on the property aside from our group of 5.

A few months later, I took another trip back to Jamaica, again with a small group of friends, this time we were planned to go to Negril. We thought we would try staying at a larger resort, only to find ourselves cutting our stay at the larger resort short, and driving back to Tiamo. This time we ventured out to Frenchman’s Cove and to Boston Bay for the authentic Jamaican Jerk Chicken. We were happy to find out when we arrived at Tiamo that the construction of the spa was completed but sad to also find out that it wasn’t due to open until a week after our visit. Before we left on our 2nd stay, we were able to take a tour of the spa facilities and it has given us another reason to go back!

“loved it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2007

What a gem. I am so happy to discover this property I can't wait to go back. The service was excellent and the Spa was like none I have ever experienced you are literally outdoors but with all the modern luxuries. Beverly was incredible and Tim was always there when you needed him. The rooms were great, everthing was new and the bathroom toiletries were better than average. The grounds are immaculately kept. All I can say is WOW. it would be a great place for a very small wedding.
