I've traveled many placed within the Caribbean staying at larger resorts right on the beach, but none of those would compare to the fabulous experience I had here. I spent ten days at tiamo with family. If you're looking for a place to lounge in the sun all day, relax, go to the beach, and drink all day you can. If you're looking for a more cultural experience you can do that as well. Its the perfect mix of traveling.
The grounds themselves were amazing. Around every corner there was a new type of flower or wildlife. Not to mention the villa I stayed in looked off the edge into the ocean and the blue lagoon. I spent countless mornings opening the french doors to this perfect site and just being in awe. The pool was clean as were all of the facilities. The room was cleaned daily with fresh sheets every day and beautiful flowers laid out. Regardless of the stories you hear about jamaica our flat screen t.v. had many channels from back home and lots of movies to choose from.
Angela, who runs the hotel, suits her name perfect. She is the kindest woman you will every meet (don't hesitate to sit down with her and talk).
David generally worked as waiting staff and did an excellent job. Everyone was very quick to meet your needs or to fix something to ensure you had the best experience.
This would be perfect for a wedding or a family get together. There are only 4 villas but lots of space for an event. As an example for a wedding: Cliffside ceremony, indoor reception, outdoor dancing and bar. Its perfect.
Though you are not directly on a beach Sansan beach is only a 5-8 minute walk away. Other beaches are easily accessible by cab.
Port Antonia is a 5-10 minute drive away and offers whatever you need :food, banks, markets, jewelry, etc. It is safe so please have no fear. If you request marsh as your taxi driver you can ask him to come with you while shopping to ensure you pay a fair jamaican price.
The blue lagoon is just down the hill and is gorgeous. You can get a dose of its beauty along with the mouth of the natural springs running down the mountain by doing a boat tour. I recommend taking Dee as your guide. He's fair, helpful, and overall a really nice guy.
The location, beauty, service and everything else was just splendid. I felt like a princess (not just another tourist along with countless others racing to get a chair by the pool, and huge lineups to get food).
