Just got home, & wishing I was still there...
Always remember, your holiday is what you make it..
Our Arrival started off not to great, we did not get picked up by the driver we had made arrangements with prior to arrival so needless to say, we didn't get out to the Cottages until quite late...
The Cottage was clean, bed was very comfortable ( which is important for myself, as I have a real bad back, so this was a welcome beginning for me)...Pillows are very firm, so if you have a bad back / neck I would suggest you bring your own pillow from home ( I did)...
The resort next door ( to the left facing the beach) was SO LOUD.. until 4 am we could not sleep.... even after putting ear plugs in, the vibration from the bass kept us up...thank goodness it was just the one night thing ( boxing day party).... for the rest of the week , it was tolerable & shut down at a decent hour....I would not recommend eating there , they cater to there guest only & was very pricey & to top it off I was brutally sick for the rest of the day..... the resort on the right side facing the beach.... Very decent priced, good food , service a little slow, but you have to remember, you are in Jamaica!!...Where they do everything slow. other then Drive!!..
Back to the Cottages.........
We had stove issues . . but Mr Ansell & Miss Beverly bought us a new stove the next day, they are very accommodating, with what ever you need to make your stay an enjoyable one.
It came equipped with Kitchen ware, but very minimal...and if there was something you needed, all you had to do was ask!
There is no hot water in the Kitchen, just cold.. but the bathroom has hot/cold running water.
We stayed in # 6.... Awesome view of the beach....was great to sit on the veranda in the morning and have your coffee....the beach is literally 40 steps away. it was great! ........
There was a security guard on, threw the night...
We had no problems & nothing was stolen....( I just wouldn't leave anything on your veranda at night)
You are abut 1/4 mile out of town.... so it was very walkable....
Cottages # 5-6 are the only units that have air conditioning....( we also had a TV, not all cottages do)
For new years Eve Mr. ANsell & Miss Beverly made everyone that was staying there .. an authentic Jamaican Jerk Chicken dinner that her brother MArio made..... I have to say.. it was the juiciest, best tasting jerk chicken I have ever had on the island....
So all in all...... If you are looking to be pampered and have the 4-5 star experience..... this is not the place for you ....
If you are looking for a more down to the locals , budget conscience holiday, where you are clean and safe... this place is great...
I would defiantly go back.. but not for just a week..... shopping and going back & forth into town( for water, ect).. was time consuming ...
I formed a special bond with Miss Beverly ( she come across as ruff and tough, but when you get to know the real her she is a sweetheart..... she will forever be my friend... she is my Little Jamaican Sister , from another Mister!!
I will post more pictures later, & if you have any question feel free to ask...
Peace out
