Stayed at Wild Parrot Beach Cottages the first week of February, 2012. The colorful, rustic little cottages are lined up along a dirt lane leading to the beach from the main road. We took our shoes off when we arrived and didn’t wear even our flip flops the entire time we were there! It’s located on a great area of the Seven Mile Beach where you can walk along the beach to anything you might need. The beach is wide in front of the Wild Parrot, not crowded at all, and has beach chairs which you can use in either the sun or the shade. While we walked the beach a lot, and had drinks at several bars along the beach, we ate most of our meals at the restaurant at the Wild Parrot, Buddy’s Beach Bar and Grill; right on the beach. I enjoyed the fact that even a simple grilled cheese sandwich for lunch comes with a nice side salad of mixed greens. It takes a very long time to get your food; but the menu varies according to what is fresh that day: grilled lobsters were HUGE and the Jamaican steamed fish was absolutely delicious. Cottages are small, old, and basic, but I found them charming: clean and bright, stocked with plenty of towels, a small refrigerator, and a very comfortable bed. We didn’t have much hot water in our cottage, but there was always enough for a quick shower. Sunday night was loud with live music from Chances next door but other than that, it was quiet at night. It is a very small property with only about 15 rooms; the staff is warm and friendly and acts as if they have known you for years. The owner is there, often sitting in Buddy’s, always available.
