“Most amazing trip of my life!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

The entertainment crew was by far my favorite part! They always had something fun to do and were some of the friendliest people I have ever met. Oshane ferguson, jermaine Henderson, juliene wright, and Omar were some of the entertainers that really stuck out to me! They were hilarious and were so much fun to be around! They also made me want to never leave! This has made my first experience to Beaches a memorable one and I will be sure to recommend it. The entire staff made my decision to return next year all to easy

Great spot for the family. Cannot say enough about the staff how they make everyone feel so welcome. The entertainment was excellent, the food was very good but above all else the people are what make this spot the place to go. Hats off to our new friends Julienne, Oshane, Marlon, Kimone, Adrian, Kenroy and Jermaine for making our stay such a memorable. You cannot go wrong at this resort - miles of sandy beaches, lots of things to do for both kids and parents. Great water park, excellent scuba staff with terrific dive spots for new and advanced divers. This is a top notch spot in Jamaica!

“Great vacation with a few complaints.”

We were at Beaches Negril with our three children, aged 5, 3, and 5 months old. Having stayed at Beaches Boscobel for the precious three years, we had high expectations for Negril. We were deeply disappointed in the service at the concierge level. At Boscobel, we were called by name, asked every day what they could do for us, went out of their way to make us feel special. We didn't feel that way at Negril until three days in when we complained to the manager. After our complaint, we were treated like gold.

Now on to the good...Negril has the nicest beach in all the Caribbean! The water skiing was amazing. We also enjoyed our time on the water trikes and the glass-bottom boat. I had a wonderful massage from the Red Lane Spa in their hut on their beach. Amazing. Our room was 801 and was a honeymoon beachfront suite. When we go back next year, we will request this room again because it was the closest to the beach and allowed us to have the kids napping and we could sit on the beach with the monitor. The room was spacious and very modern and clean. The bed was super comfortable. Our son slept on the pull-out couch and that was great. We had two cribs for our girls and put one in the huge closet/sink area and the other out in the entryway. It worked perfectly.

The nursery was fantastic for our five month old. They treated her wonderfully in there and we felt safe and secure with her there. We had a nanny every evening in our room from 8-10 by the name of Nage and she was spectacular. We will request her next year again. She even came to the lobby to say good bye to us when we left at the end of the week. Ironically we ran into our nanny from Beaches Boscobel from last year (Lamarr) who was there for a few days on a training visit and she remembered us!!

We would like to thank Daniela who allowed us to go to Sandals one evening for dinner to check it out. Apparently they changed the rules though. It used to be that staying at Beaches, you could go to the Sandals and use their facilities as well but that has since changed. However, if you stay at Sandals, you can go to Beaches. Doesn't make much sense. However, we had a wonderful dinner there and enjoyed seeing it there. It was amazing how different the quality of service was. At Beaches, you could wait awhile at the bar before a bartender would acknowledge you but at Sandals, they were asking you what you wanted to drink even before you got to the bar. We will definitely go to Sandals Negril one day but if we hadn't been able to check it out, we wouldn't have known how great it was.

We particularly liked the water slides, although they couldn't compare to the water park at Boscobel. Hopefully they will redo it someday so it is like the one at Boscobel. We were glad that they lowered the height restrictions and that meant our five year old was tall enough to go on them. We spent a lot of time on the water slides. Kimone was amazing at running the slides from the top. She knew each and every child's name that went down the slide and made the experience so fun for them. She was fantastic.

Our meals were great. We particularly enjoyed the Japanese restaurant where we dined twice. The Italian was good and our server was great (can't remember his name). We enjoyed having lunch at the pizzeria or the grill by the pool. The Mill was pretty much the same each day but great for breakfast. The kids just ate there at dinner and that was fine for them. One night there was lobster and we had that before our dinner out and it was really good.

Sesame Street shows were great. Kids loved them. We also saw Zoe in the nursery and Elmo out on the beach and were able to get pictures with them.

Despite our few complaints, we have a fantastic time and can't wait to go back!

“Don't go here if you've been to Beaches Turks and Caicos.... Sore disappointment”

I just returned from a very disappointing trip to Beaches Negril. We booked this trip after being utterly impressed with Beaches Turks and Caicos....talk about a huge mistake. My husband, mom and 2 year old daughter arrived in Jamaica on Feb 4. once the plane landed we had to wait in immigration for appox 2 hours because their customs officers are quite slow in their tasks. Once we cleared customs we walked down to the Sandals room where we were told that there was approximately a 10 minute wait for our shuttle. The room was pretty nice and there were drinks available. Once we we called to our shuttle our luggage was taken to the shuttle along with us. As we entered the shuttle, the person who brought our luggage immediately demanded a tip. I wax so shocked because I thought he was part of the beaches resort. Please keep this in mind when you go on the bus.

The resort itself was much smaller than Turks.....limited choices in food and activites. The pool was extremely cold and this is coming from a Canadian who is accustomed to extreme temperatures. Towels at the pool and beach are hard to find by mid morning so my advice is to grab some towels at 7 am place them on a beach chair and make them look sort of crumpled so at least you and the kids would have something to dry off with after swimming. There are lots of bugs on the beach...my 2 year old got bitten by some sand fleas and when we took her to the nurse we ended up having to pay $150 for a doctors visit and $80 for some cortisone cream. (the same thing happened to her at Turks &Caicos last year and we didn't have to pay for a doctor nor for the cream for the sand fleas bite)

Only a positive note the food, the wait staff and the bartenders were terrific. Kudos to all the waiters and severs at the Mill where we dined every single day. My daughter is a picky eater and they were more than happy to accomodate all our requests. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the staff at the front desk. Whenever would go by to ask a question they would ask for my room number then immediately their "friendly" demeanor would change once they learnt I am not staying at the $20 000 per week suite of rooms. They same goes for the gentleman at the "soon come back" desk.

My final note about this resort.....definitely not up to Beaches standard. Go to Beaches Turks and Caicos if you have a choice.....

Room Tip: Don't stay in the 500 series rooms backing onto the highway....very very noisy
