“Exceeded expectations!”

My wife and I loved our stay here. Being a smaller resort was just right for us because it was much more personal and we could do as little or as much as we wanted and did not have to deal with large groups and crowds. The other visitors were also friendly and fun and many were returners to the resort and were helpful with where to go and what to do. The staff was incredible and many knew our names before the end of the first day. By far the welcoming feeling the staff gave us made our trip even better. The food was amazing and we over ate every chance we got, which was every meal. Rooms were smaller but clean and nice and the resort was beautiful. If you stay at the resort beach the locals selling things left you alone and they even had security there but the locals seemed very friendly. It was a great vacation and very recomended.

Room Tip: Beachside for sure

“Grand Pineapple...Awesome for People Watching”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

New wife and I spent a couple of nights at Grand Pineapple after staying on the cliffs to get a taste of the beach. Beach here was gorgeous, clear, warm, calm, sandy bottom, and not too crowded. Vendors only approached us down by the water, but never while we were on a beach chair behind the security/lifeguard stand. Hotel is in the middle of alot of things, right next door to Alfred's...Friday night at Alfred's was crazy!!! We stayed beachside, which was so convenient to the beach, bar, and dining area. Garden side, which was across the street, was very secluded, but that is where the pool was. It was a good size pool, clean, but empty..There were alot of peacocks roaming around.
Room was average, clean, a/c worked well.We stayed room #48. Fridge was extra, something like $50 a week, and stocked once. Looked like stocked with bottled beer, soda and water.
Internet was $15 a day, I don't remember how much per week. But I think the week is the way to go for internet, maybe $60.
Food was average. All buffet. Between lunch and dinner you can order off a snack menu..We go the hamburger and fries. Delicious I must say!
The bar is small and located between dining area and beach. So if you are garden side, you have to walk across the street to the beach side to get to the bar.
All the frozen drinks were delicious. No high end liquor, except for Southern Comfort. They did have Jack Daniels, but only enough for 3 drinks, then gone forever. Rum was Dorado, which could not get me drunk at all. Maybe I am immune to rum, who knows. I switched the next day to either Canadian Club or Seagrams VO with diet coke, and buzzed after 3 drinks. Beers were only redstripe and redstripe light. Everything served in small plastic cups, except at dinner, but alot of people brought big mugs to be filled up, def. the way to go. Bartenders and servers were all awesome.
The hotel is small, so everyone gets to know you pretty quick..And this is when the fun happens. I love to people watch, and my wife and I did alot. So many people were having so much fun, telling their stories, getting drunk, and god, everyone love Chris Christie.. (especially that guy with the orange hat traveling with Liz...hahahaha, hope your head is ok)..He was too funny. All the guest at the hotel were very friendly and happy. I would go back again and split the trip up beach and cliffs.
Sarah wants to say hi to Amy and Randy, so HI!!! And to Liz's group, Hi guys!!!

“Can't wait to go back next year!”

Already booked to go back, can't wait! Check in was awesome, smooth and quick, perfect, very friendly! ROOMS are VERY clean, but recommend bringing a extension cord because there are no plug ins in the bathroom, and very few around the room. Totally recommend the beach side rooms, very convenient to everything, with the gorgeous ocean right in your front yard. Garden side is much more quiet. Nice pool, but never saw anyone in it. FOOD is very good. Lots of choices to choose from, no worries there. Delishious omlets each morning made with love and a smile. Loved the fresh fruit at each meal. Service in the restaurant was wonderful, hello to Jacqueline and Kerry Ann, you girls are awesome and Kim and I (Liz), can't wait to see you both again in January. And boy can Jacqueline dance, I still can't get over that,....you go girl! :) Hugs! The BAR,... any drink you can think of. Wished they would of served Appleton Rum, instead of El Dorado, we really missed that, and apparently they will have El Dorado for 2 more years to fill a 5 year contract. Had lots of fun at the bar with our favorites, Gorgeous Nadine, Kevin, (excuse me, do you have a pen?-haha), Robert, (hope you are using your please and thank yous! -hahaha), and Andrew-a party within himself. ENTERTAINMENT was decent, there was a small band a couple of nights. And now our favorite part,...the OCEAN/BEACH,...ahhhhhhh!! You couldn't find a more perfect place for a resort. The Grand Pineapple is on Prime property. Right in the middle of everything. The ocean color is to die for,...bring an air mattress, the sun gets hot and the water is so refreshing. Plenty of chairs on the beach. Security was great, just needed to check in with them when leaving the GP, which was no big deal at all. Nice to know someone cares and is watching out for you. Over all, this was the perfect vacation. Including this trip, this was our 6th time to Jamaica. 3X in Ocho, 2X in MoBay, and then this time to Negril. Back to Negril, and the GP for Lucky number 7! See everyone in Jan. 2013! Hugs from Dave & Liz, and Doug & Kim, miss all of you!

Room Tip: If you want to be "in it", book Beach side. For a more quiet location, book Garden side.

“Great place”

Staff were excellent, knew our names and drink preferences. Beach staff remebered where we liked to sit and set up chairs for us. Security was superb. Bar staff(Maria, Timar, Andrew) we very attentive. Rooms were clean and comfy, could use some upgrades but overall good. Food was excellent. Hyacinth was always cheerful at the omelet station. Michael from pool/beach staff was very friendly and took the time to talk with us everyday. We met some great people this year-the smallness of the resort is like being in a large house. Loved it!!

Room Tip: Beachside rooms were very convenient, music next door didn't bother me at all

Service was awesome! Marvette(waitress), Patrick(security), Calvin(bartender). Very personable, hard workers, after day one they knew your name and your likes! Beach was always clean, drinks were abundant, and food great! Smaller but more personal than the monsters (beaches, sandles). I would go back tomorrow. Don,t forget to go with captain Mosses for sunset cruise, it's was fun!!

Room Tip: The garden cottages are across the street, but they were more private than beachside. The pool is o...
