My wife and I returned from a very enjoyable 7 day vacation at Sunset at Palms resort on Feb. 4/12. Our room was very nice. The balcony with daybed, table and 2 chairs surrounded by lush tropical vegetation with many species of birds and the occasional lizard was first rate! The only negative was the fact that our room (#621) was very close to the road with traffic noise being annoying at times. That being said, the resort did offer to move us once something became available, however with decided to stay put. My wife did experience quite a few bug bites (sand flies) however she didn't let that ruin her vacation. I felt them 'nipping' at me as well, especially on cloudy, humid days, however they didn't leave a mark/welt on me.
We found the food at the buffet and the beach grill to be very good with plenty of choices. We didn't try the al la carte since we didn't want to be on a schedule.
Enjoyed the calm water of the ocean and the travelling musicians were quite entertaining.
In my opinion the service the staff provided was top-notch. I really enjoyed the interesting conversations I had with some of the staff; in particular, Jeffrey down at the beach and the maintenance man ( Moreland ? ) I met at the Gym. Thank you to Damien and Shemore, for your excellent service at the buffet.
Also, enjoyed the cocktails and conversation shared with our neighbours in room #620. Cheers to Dwain and Elaine!! There is not much more I can say that hasn't already been said in other reviews.
I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a quite, relaxing vacation in a beautiful, lush tropical setting,
