“Fantastic!”

What a great place to vacation. We are repeat guests and the staff remembered us! Talk about feeling like you are going "home". From the time you check-in until the time you check-out, you are made to feel like you are the most important person in the world. Beautiful grounds, great food and your choice of things to do. You can water-ski, snorkle, do a glass-bottom boat ride, climb Dunn's River Falls, go shopping (all included), or just hang out on the beach or by the pool. We highly recommend Couples San Sousi!

“Not the best, not the worst”

Overall, the hotel was great. Only a few mistakes were made during our stay. This is a belated review. We stayed here from May 12-19, 2011. I believe I expected better service because of my previous stays at Mexican all-inclusives. Be prepared to wait in Jamaica.

Room: Very clean. (FYI: They only wash the sheets if you request it.) A bit on the small side for a one bedroom oceanfront room. Enjoyed the balcony overlooking the pool.

Restaurants: Food was average. I would compare it to Luby's Cafeteria. The beach grill served good burgers, but be prepared for your order to be incorrect at least a couple of times during your stay. (This goes for all the restaurants.) As for Casanova, the food was fine. I expected more from their "best" restaurant. Pallazina was great for breakfast and lunch. As for dinner, Pallazina was average at best. Service at all the restaurants were slow (30 min to 1 hour before the food arrived). In-suite dining was fine (they just need to add a little more to the menu and make room service 24 hours). If you go out on the town, make sure to order room service before you leave and put it in the refrigerator (just in case you get the munchies).

Bars: The Ballon bar was the best. Service was excellent!! The bar at the beach grill and the swim-up bar were always crowded. But you could get a drink within 5 minutes. All the drinks were good (4 out of 5). The drinks did not taste watered down (like a lot of the all-inclusives).

Beach: If you love scenery, this is the place to go. If your going to swim in the ocean, you will be disappointed. It is very shallow and there is a lot of seaweed. If your there to sunbath, it is great.

Pond: Make sure you bring some bread with you from where ever you eat, to feed the fish and turtles at the pond. Be sure to talk to the parots. They were great fun.

I took over 600 pictures and none of them were bad. This is a beautiful resort. Be prepared to do a lot of walking up and down hills. You will not gain any weight due to all the cardio you'll get!!

Room Tip: If you stay in one of the one bedroom oceanfront suites, ask for a room on the end of the building...

“When Excellence is the Standard!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I had a group booking of nine rooms and their was an error on the part of the Tour operator with our dates. I received a phone call from the GM Mr. Pierre Battaglia at the resort to inform me that they had just found out from our travel agent of the error and that they were working hard to accomodate our group. This was two days from our trip and the resort was fully booked for the one night in error. Needless to say the follow up from the GM, and the reservations manager was fantastic. There was never any doubt that we would be taken care of. We ended up having to 3 rooms at Couples Tower Isle for one night with the balance of guests checked in at San Souci. I have had and seen issues like this before at other resorts and non one has ever handled it as professionally as these folks did.

Many of the guests at Couples San Souci have stayed there previously and it is easy to see why they return. The hotel staff thrives on excellence and works to make each guest feel special. No matter who walks by, they say hello and greet you. Even the trainees that are serving are fantastic in engaging the guests in conversation.
The Food and Beverage Manager Mr. Dwight Powell made sure that our group had seating together each evening for 18 people and once again you cannot beat the food at San Souci. Fantastic lamb chops, lobster, Jerk Chicken. The beach party and gala nights are fantastic and you have to appreciate all the work that goes into setting up for the special evenings.

A year ago i felt that the entertainment in the evenings could be improved upon, and i can say that all of our group commented on how good the entertainment was this year. The reason we returned to San Souci was that everyone in our group wanted to return after having stayed there last year.

You get what you pay for when you stay at Couples. It truly is all inclusive including the trip to beautiful Dunns River Falls. The water Sports include all your dives if you are a certified diver, and you can play tennis till your legs give out.

Good staff just does not happen on its own, it comes from the leaders striving for excellence int heir organization. It is clear that GM Pierre Battaglia, his Operations Manager Nicholas Lynch and their staff are striving to be the best all the time in service, facilities, fun, and food.
Thank you again to all the staff at San Souci for making our trip the best it could be.

Room Tip: go for the first floor as there are many steps and hills to climb

“Great Honeymoon Resort!”

The resort was beautiful and well maintained. Lots of wonderfull trails and exercise opportunities. The staff was exceptional in every way. The activites staff was very engaging. This is a perfect place for couples of any age group to relax and have a great time. Plenty of activities to choose from, but also a quiet place for downtime too. The food was wonderful and drink options were excellent. A couple of items that you should be aware of: 1) excellent choice of liquers, but very few "all-inclusive" wine selections. Others are available at an extra cost. Red Stripe and Red Stripe Light (both on tap) are the only beer selections. 2) No public ice machines. You must call and have it brought to your room. Staff is very quick about fulfilling room service needs though. 3) Room service is part of the all-inclusive package.

Room Tip: Stay in the two buildings near the Beach Grill for easy access to the ocean, swim up bar pool, and r...

“A Very Memorable Experience”

From the moment we landed in Jamaica, we knew that that this was going to be a fantastic vacation. Travelled with 2 other couples and we really cant say enough about this wonderful place...sure, the average age was 45plus, but the quietness was appreciated. We made wonderful friends with the workers on site, and it was difficult saying bye to them...The food was outstanding, the rooms were beauitful, the grounds were well taken care of, and the people there were AMAZING!! It was such a pleasure to see such pleasant people everyday. We cant wait to go back and cant wait to share our experience with all those around us. My only negative feedback is with relation to the beach...small and lots of seaweed.
