We were greeted with complimentary drinks. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The food was great although one morning we waited over an hour for breakfast. I think they could have offered guests a drink whilst waiting especially when there was a young child in the midst who was very thirsty in the sweltering heat.

The room overlooked lovely grounds. However, some of the grounds was poorly lit at nights which was a security concern.

The bathroom was dated and below average as the shower was hanging off the wall and I actually burnt myself on the shower tax which was leaking. Much improvement needed in this area.

Whilst the bar staff were pleasant, I found that on 2 occasions they were quite happy to short change you because they did'nt have sufficient change. One member of staff commented "We have'nt got the $20 change to give you, anyway, its not much as $20 could'nt buy you anything in the shops" Had I given them $20 less when I purchased my drink, would they have given me the drink? I think not. By the third occasion I had had enough and soon put a stop to it.

I had to ask for a remote control for the television.

I liked the location best - One could'nt have asked for a better location with all the amentiites and local attractions around us.
There is room for marked improvement with basic things like the bathroom.

Overall it was a pleasant experience.

I also stayed in a privately owned room on the complex and the contrast was so great!

I stayed there in June 2010. I would not recemmend this dump hole. There was no running hot water, no working air condictioning, and the hotel room smelled like mold and dirt.
I filed a complaint to the hotel manager of sales, and the manager NEVER returned any of my calls.
I will NOT return to Sandcastle.

I was in send castle , the first night i was robed of $600, camera and mobile phone, it was an inside job by the staff of sand castle. they use the key to get in to my room and took everything expencive. i informed the manager of sand castle but they disagree that no one go in to the room without security and room service. the lock was unbroken, so it was an inside job. i got information that it happend b4 in the sand castle. so b careful when u book any resort like that and aboide horrable holly day.............

You know it's bad when you find yourself in an internet cafe desperate to find somewhere else to stay in the middle of your holiday! I have been going to Jamaica (am half Jamaican) for years so I am very familiar with the culture and accommodation offerings there. This is very basic accommodation. Staff on an individual level are very friendly, however they do not work well as a team. Several phone calls to get anything needed and no one knew what the other had done, what had been said etc. We went a whole day without towels. Six phone calls & 7 hours later, STILL no towels. We finally got a housekeep with major attitude who came up only to argue... and still didn't bring towels. Next day, no hot water :-) This was one of many incidents over 3 days before we finally threw in the towel (or lack thereof haha) and checked out. We went to the Riu Palace Tropical in Negril instead! (please see my review). Their restaurant was okay.
